The Charity operat6s at the Meadows Leisure Centre, and all sessions are
run under the operating procedures as set out thal facility. A risk
assessment is also undertaken prior to attending any gala plus a
separated risk assessment is urKlertaken if swimmers are to travel by

A nan￿d Welfare Officer is appointed and a Chikl Protection Policy is in
place. Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service {DBS) checks are carried
out on all coaches. swmming teachers, poolside helpers and committee
members who have close contact with thildren pnor lo commencement of
their roles. As part of the child proteclion Frf)licy this group of members
also musl undertake a Child Safeguarding course. D8S checks and a
Child Safeguarding Courses must be repeated every three years
according lo the guidelines set out by Swm England to remain an
Affiliated Swim England Club.

The Charity's objects are the promotion of community participation in

inhabitsnts of Liverpool and the surrounding areas by Ihe provision of

The focus of the Clubs act[Vit￿S remains the development of swimmers
through go(yJ coaching and individuavteam competition
The Chartty is commttted to treat everyone equalty within the context of
tts activtties and with due respect to the drfterences of individuals. This
shall be, for example, regardless of age,sex,ethnic
ongin,religion.disability.or poliucal persuasion, on any 9rounds.
The development of swimmers is monilored through tracking
performances al competitions and galas. Club Championships gives all
our swimmers the opportunity to wmpele in a full range of strokes and
events.
The selects.on of swimmers for competits'ons is fair and transpa￿nt
The Charity encourages Son￿ of our teenage members to become
(￿lsIde helper5 andlor swimming teachers. This benefits young people
by developing their self-confidence and social skills alongside their
swimming skills.

In line wth the Charity Commission's guidan￿ on public benefit the Club
is a￿ayS happy to support our teenage members who are undertaking
the Duke of Edinburgh awards scherrÉ. This year we have swimmer
dThng Duke of Edinburgh.
The Charity is a verified Leaming Destinats'on for Sefton Children's
University. This means children who come lo swimltrain can have their
Passport to LeamirKJ stamped at the club.

A 9￿at contribution is made by our team of volunteers. We are grateful
for the many hours they contnbule to enable the Charity to achieve its
objectives and ensure a safe, happy, and fun environment where children

One of our vdunteers agreed lo take on the role as chaperone for any
swimrner requiring this Ser￿￿. This role requires an enhan￿d DBS and
that was completed.

Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of thè
charity during the year
Booye and North LNerp¢xA was successful in the Club Affiliation to Swim
England process. This shows the club has the minimum standards in
place lo allow its members to train and compete safely and are ￿)Vered
by insurance.
The Charity offer three, Iwo hourly sessions per week lo swimmers
depending on their ability. The dub closes for the month of Augusl and
for a few days over Chrisbmas and Easter
We conkn.nue to have a number of swjmmers who compete and train with
the City of Liverpool. This training gives them opportunities to gain entry
times for higher level events and athieve regionallnaticY)al qualrfying
times
The Charity has partakèn in a number of gala's during the year. One of
the events is the Micro League. This league is for swimmers aged nine to
Iwelve years okl, Its a great introduction to competition for the younger
swimmers. In 2024 Seas(￿ one of our swtmmers won Top Girl in the
Division.
One of the charity's Level One coaches was su￿Ssful in gaining their
Level Two wa¢hing qualification. This is an important qualificalion lo
ensure the club Gonb'nues to be affiliated to Swrn England.
The Charity organised a swimathon in June to raise money for
'Elsie's Story . A Just Giving page was set up. The event took place
instead of a training session. With the help of Our volunteers and coaches
forty plus swimmers took part and £1.096 was raised on the Just Giving
Page. The charity had some little bracelets made to give lo each
swimmer who took part on the day.

annual individual insurance through Swim England
This year the Charity paid a self-employed Coach and a level 2 teacher
to supp)rt our volunteer coaching staff. This was necessary to ensure the
safety of all our swimmers and allow one of our volunteer Level 1
coaches attend training for their level 2 coaching qualification.. This
course was rK)t local and on one occasion required an ovemighl stay.
