How is the charity structured?

The charity is run by volunteers who are parents or friends of the school. It is registered with the PTA-UK, an organisation for parent-teacher associations. There are termly meetings held either at the school, or at a local venue. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend. Since Covid-19 we have been meeting on zoom

Activities and objectives in the year

Cinio Haf : Highlight of the year was a formal dinner in Nov 2019. We raised nearly £22k through ticket sales and raffle in this financial year (with additional income in 2018-19). The event costed nearly £11k to run, therefore overall there was a profit of over £11k which was donated to the school.

There were also several other events like BBQ, cake stall at Queen’s Park and Pittshanger, collections at the rugby, Halibalw festival, book sales that also raise money for the school. There was also substantial income from:

Prif Taliadau

Heblaw taliadau ar gyfer cinio Haf 19, a rhoddion I’r ysgol, roedd taliadau am hysbysrwydd a chofrestru, Hefyd flwyddyn yma rydym wedi rhoi taliad o £5619 i Clothworkers Hall ar gyfer Cinio Haf 2020, sydd nawr wedi gohirio tan 2022. Maent wedi cardnahau y dyddiad a dim cynnydd yn pris y bwyd.

The PTFA donated £22,808 to the school this financial year, and this helped with new equipment, books for the library, new electronic piano.

Main expenses

Apart from the expense for Cinio Haf 19, and donations to the school, there were some outgoing for advertising and registrations. Also in this financial year we paid a deposit of £5619 to Clothworkers Hall for Cinio Haf 2020, this is now postponed until 2022, but the venue have confirmed the date and honoured the same prices for the meals,

5050 lottery

The PTFA also runs a lottery. Participants pay £5 a month for the chance to win two cash prizes per quarter amounting to 40% and 10% of the contributions paid during each period. The remaining 50% of contributions will be donated to the school. This year the donation to the school has been postponed until 2020-21 because £22k had already been donated.
