Children of Pea￿ is a non-partisan UK
charity founded in 2004 that aims to work
with both Palestinian and Israeli children
aged between 4 and 17 years to develop a
shared spirit of friendship, reconciliation,
trust and understanding via the arts,
education. health and sports programmes
regardless of ￿)MMUnity, cU￿ure, faith,
gender or heritag6- SO that a future
generation and their eommunilies might live
and work in peace side-by-side in two future
inde
endent states.
2021 saw numerous developments, projects
and programmes thal enhanced our work
and outcomes for our beneficiaries.

Our Coalition of Peace remained the single
largest pea￿ network across the Middle
East with affiliate CBOslNGOs in Bahrain,
Egypt. Gaza, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon,
Morocco, Oman, Turkey, UAE and the West
Bank with affiliates across Europe and North
America.

In January 2021 y￿ funded the
refurbishment of the mutti-faith & diverse
kindergarten at the Jerusalem YMCA. In
February 2021 we planted 1000 olive tree
saplings for Palestinian farmers in Burin, nr
Hebron West Bank with Rabbis for Human
Rights (Israel) as part of our Trees for Peace
project

In July 2021 the Children of Peace Team

Our quarterly online newsletter Peacechild
grew in its reach lo intemation81 public
figures and affiliates.
Sn September 2021 Rolene Marks, the Israel
joumalist joined our team. Dalia al Naiiar is
aP￿Trnted Regional Coordinator & Ola
Shalayel joins as Gaza Liaison.
On 29th November 2021, the University
College of Applied Sciences in Gaza, hosted
the 202112 Children of pea￿ Razan Al-
Naiiar Bursary Awards conferred on three
new students and six current awardees

Achievements and Performance
SORP referent*
The charity acts a$ a peacebuilding, conflict
resolLrtion and child protection NGO working
with CBOS and NGOS in Israel and Palestine
often missed by intemational bodies, global
charities and governments. We act as a
catalyst for change and as a conduit of
dialogue between communities divided or
alienated by confiict that might have had littte
or no contact before.

Our main achievement is to provtyje grants
for grassroots organisations that work
directly with beneficiaries in key areas of the
arts, education, sports and healthcare. To
date we have assisted over 134,000 children
in Gaza. Israel and West Bank Palestine
since 2004 through our affiliate driven
Coalition of Peace which to date has over
3418ffiliates and is now the single largest
pea￿ nehV0￿ in the Middle Easf and North
Africa.
Fund raising has been cenlred around a
small numbèr of events organised by our
own Events Committee. We also enjoy
su
ort from student bodies at schools and

colleges throughout the UK, including
seGular and Jewsh, Christian and Muslim
communities, RAG Commtttees and through
independent fund raising.
Our webstie continues to be a valuable tool
for promoting the charrty and raising
awareness, in addition to being a channel for
receiving donations. In 2021, it received
118,023 worldwide new visits. Our Social
Media team consists of three young
volunteers and they have increased our
presen￿ in Instagram, Reddit, Facebook
and Twitter. Our Twitter following rose to
over 11,200 and contributors are based in
the UK, lsr8el, West Bank Palesline, Egypt,
Turkey and Gaza.

   - I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2021 

- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
