The Inspire Arts Tnjst is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee and is governed by

The Trust is governed by a board of Trustees, who are responsible for setting the strategic direction
of the charity and for establishing policy. The board of Trustees meets regularfy and delegates the

The Inspir8 Arts Trust has continLwJ to show grK*J growlh ovor this past year which is very
encouraging. We are delighled lo outline the developmenl accomplished in each area.
The Directors￿rusteeS have complied the ChariliesAcl 201110 have due regard lo public benefit
guidance published by the Charity Commission.
Bristol Acad•rny of Live Perfonning Arts (BALPA)
We are now seeing over 215 people with more trialing classes and individual lessons each
week (please note this number does not indude the older people's sessions). Our goal is to
keep increasing the nurnbers corning lo the classes and therefore we are increasing our
marketing and targeting Ioc81 schools as much as we can to see this increase. There are
some classes that if we don't have numbers increase. or receive any funding in, we would need
to cancel which would be a real shame.
We were absolutely bursting at the seams for our BALPA Christmas Shows. We had over 330
attend and had around 150 children perfomi. Those who attended loved the show and we gol 2
bursary donations totaling £120 on the day which has never happened before! In the Summer
we had the same attendan￿ and numbers perfomiing. As well as re￿Iving a £100 donation for
the bursary fund on the day, we have also had 2 businesses interested in donating lo the
bursary fund, one who then gave in Autumn 2025. The shows continue to be a great
opportunity to see how the children and young people have progressed over Ihe year and lo
hear the positive comments from the parents and supporters who attend about the impact
BALPA has on their child's lives.
In September we held another successful open day with well over 100 attending. The weather

was very varied. but this didn't affectthe attendance. We didn't have as many sign up on the
day this time to join BALPA bul they have since booked in during the term which is good. We
were supported by the Round Table who brought their bouncy castle which was a pull to bring
people in and meant they helped plug the event beforehand as well.
In September we launched our new quiet dass which is for children who struggle with loud
noise and have diagnosed or undiagnosed additional needs. This has been a huge success.
The best way for us lo tell you about the effect of this dass is in the words of one of th8
attendees.
When she came to the cl888. she was a selective mute who used cards to communicate and
wouldn't speak. After 10 weeks of the lerni, she made a video herself for the lulors and spoke
about the impact the class had on her.. 'Laura and Alice are my Quiet Class tutors. I want to tell
them what a difference they make and how important Quiet Class is for me and my friends. In
most dance classes there's lols of children and il's really loud. I find it scary, but I can't talk to
tell anyone. Laura and Alice know l find il hard talking to people, so they never expect me to
talk. I like helping with Ihe dance moves. il makes me feel listened to even if I can't talk. They
are super at knowing if we are struggling and they ask us if we need a break for a bil. We can
stop and have a play, and they have fun playing with us, so we never worry about needing a
break. If any one of us is struggling with a dance move or doesn't like how it feels, Laura and
Alice are kind and understanding and ask us if we'd like to change it.
Dancing makes me happy,11 helps me feel less shy and worried. When I'm dancing il helps me
forget about everything I don't like, like medicine and hospital. When I'm in hospital I can't go to
Quiet Class, bul the dances change every week. so I don't feel left behind. Because of Laura
and Alice, I've been brave enough lo join Musical Theatre dass and make up my own dances
and show everyone in Quiet Class. Every week I go home and show the new dance lo my
family, and it makes me feel proud."
The older p6ople's work this year has had mixed success. We initially stsrted Sing Out! and th8
Intergenerational Movement Class al Caedmon bul found although people were interested, they
didn't like coming to new places. In an effort lo try and work round this. we met in a local
assisted living facility, Grace Lodge. The Inlergenerational Class now happens there on a
weekly basis and the ￿sIdentS and young children are loving itl We are holding 'Sing Oull, al
the over 60s Tea room in Thornbury once a month. and holding another one once a month al
Grace Lodge and are looking for places lo hold the other 2 weeks to build up interest. We did
hold 2 Christmas Sing Ouls al Caedmon which the older people did attend and thoroughly
enjoyed. The Management has changed at Grace Lodge and the opportunities we had
previously, are no longer there sadly. Moving forward into 202512026 Sing Out will happen
once a month at our complex.
Due to demand, we ran activity days in October, February. Easter. May and Summer holidays.
In Easter and the Summer we received funding from South Gloucestershire Council through the
Holiday Activity Funding lo help fund 12 places per day for children on benefit related free
school meals. The council came and reviewed the days we offered and we were 8W8rded
Green. the highest possible rating. for what we offered. After reviewing our summer activity
days, we decided to decrease the number of children each day to 30 (we had previously
increased our numbers lo 351 as we had a lol of no shows each day, however this was not the
case in the summer. Having seen the summer budget and worked out the numbers, we have
decided to put 2 paid assistants on each day to take away the reliance on young volunteers and
ensure we have more trained people to help in the room on the day.
We started to market the BALPA parties at the Activty Days in summer 2024 and this has taken

off. We have several parknes that have happened or have booked in so far. This helps in terms
of rent for Caedmon but every child who comes goes away with a BALPA leaflet and we have
had children sign up to join BALPA just from (x)ming to party. You can see from this comment
we received from one of the parents that this has been a roaring success-. "l just wanted to drop
you a message and say a massive THANK YOUII Lizzie, Eddie and the team were fanlaslicl T
absolutely loved her paty and had the best time with her friends. Lots of the children said il was
the best party ever, so thank you all for making a little girl's dreams come truel-
Awards
As we mentioned on our last report. we are now running more awards for young people.
Throughout the year we had 50 awards being worked on which include..
Arts Awards at Bronze, Silver and Gold Level
South Gloucestershire Volunteering and South Glouceslershirè Youth Award
Dance Leadership Level 1 and 2
ASDAN Volunteering and Expressive Arts Awards
This is something we are want to do more - to train up the fvture teachers of BALPA and give
them nationally recognised qualifications. We are especially proud of our 4 students who have
gained their Dance Leadership Level 2 Qualification which allows them lo leach dance. This
was a new qualification for us this year and we have received fantsstic reviews from the
external verifier who checked the work.
Moving forward in September 2025 we start a partnership with SGS College lo run Sports
Leaders Level 2 awards with all their coaching stsff. Inspire staff will be delivering Unil 1 in the
college and be helping with the assessment and administrative side of the awards. We will also
be starting delivering Bronze and Silver Arts Awards for students of KLB School who will be
coming to Caedmon lo complete these. This is part of a wider programme within the school to
develop other non-a¢ademi¢ opportunities for pupils and Inspire is delighted lo be a part of this.
Communlty
We once again participated in Thornbury Fun Palaces in October 2024 and had children come
and try tasters of Street Dance and Musical Theatre which again helped to increase awareness
of what we do.
In November 2024 our children also perforyned al Thombury Christmas Lights Switch On. 11
was a g￿81 opportunity for the children to perfomi. The stand wasn't as successful due lo the
layout of the whole fayre, sadly the charity stands were away from the fun fayre and food stands
which meant there was not as much foot fall. This is something we hope to address wilh the
organisers ahead of next yearfs lights swtch on.
We have run classes for local Brownies and Rainbows groups which the groups have paid for.
These have been a great success and one parent C811ed the next moming saying how
desperate her daughter was to join BALPA and immediately signed her up!
Wellbelng
As we mentioned last timo, Zoe was starting some welltoing sessions for the BALPA mums
and other female residents of Thombury. These started in October with a Peace, Health and
Wellbeing session and then continued in November with relaxation sessions and January
with 3 wellbeing sessions and July with another relaxation session. We have seen around 100
ladies so far attend these. It has been great to help these murns make lime ft)r themselves.
1000/0 of the ladies who answered our survey said they would CLsme back and that they felt the
sessions had helped their mental health.

As part of our Wellbeing offering Zoe has trained as a Templespa consultant. TempleSp8 are
a wellbeing skincare brand and what they offer fils really well with what we are runnin#hrough
our Wellbeing sessions. The profit from this all goes through Inspire and the profil gained helps
towards the bursary fund. In the last year we have raised £1800 for the bursary fund through
this. It's also a great chance for us to advertise BALPA to the ladies we meet.
Personnel
We have continued to grow and recnjil new lulors this year which is fantasticl One tutor was
on malemity leave this last year but we were able lo cover this and are delighted lo have her
back with us in September 2025. One of the very excits'ng things for us is we have our first two
Dance Leaders who are now leaching for BALPA. It is exciting to be able to train young
lead8rs and see them grow into teachers and we hope to do even more of this in the future.
This year il has been fantastic again to see the grovrth in Inspire. We are indebted lo our
amazing workers, funders. volunteers. management team and Trustees who are so
passionate and hard working in delivering excellent and rewarding experiences for all the
young people who attend.

Fundlng
We are very grateful lo Garfield Weston and Children In Need for their Core Cost funding
donations given in this financial year.
Reserves pollcy
The Trustees have established a policy whereby the unreslricled funds not committed or
invested in tangible fixed assets I"Ihe free ￿Serves") held by the charity should be between 3
and 6 months of the unreslricled expenditure, which equates lo £22,500 10 £45,000 in general
funds. Al this level, the board of Trustees feels Ihal il would be able lo continue the current
activities of the charity in the event of a signrficant drop in funding. It would obviously be
necessary lo consider how the funding would be replaced or activities changed accordingly. Al
the balance sheet dale, the free reserves were £5,683, they have increased since the last year
which has been good lo see but are not as high as we would ideally like lo improve the
resilience of the charity. There are some funds already given for Ihe next financial year lo help
towards core costs and therefore the Trustees feel confident Inspire will continue lo grow. The
Trustees are of the opinion Ihal Inspire remains a going concem bul are continuing lo keep a
careful eye on the situation.

The Trustees can invest in any stocks. funds. shares, securities or other investments of
whatsoever nature as the Iruslees shall. in their absolute discretion, think fil.

Investment policy
income is ulilised within a short time afler receipt, the Truslees consider that the most
appropriate policy for investing funds is to place them on short-term deposit.
Riskmanagement
The Trustees reviewed the risks of the charity and the risk register was discussed in August
2025 by the Trustees. The main risks. control factors and actions have been identified as
follows..
Risk.. Insufficient staff & volunteers for activities lo support children and young adults. Controls:
Ensuring every activity follows the guidelines and there are sufficient personnel involved
Ensuring the correct numbers of First Aiders and Fire Wardens are available. Review the
NSPCC guidelines each year and ensure these are being followed. Ensure no activity goes
ahead without sufficient personnel present.
Risk.. Inadequate cashflowto meetrequirements. Controls: Regular monitoring ofcashflow
byGeneral Manager. Budgeting of key areas of work. Maintaining adequate reserves.
Recruiting more students al every opportunity. Actions.. Continue to monitor cashflow and
build reserves further. Recruit more students to ensure this happen.
Risk.. Lack of funding lo support the worf( of the charity. Funding bids are being produced and
submitted. Regular funding being consolidated through BALPA. Controls.. Bursary funding is
especially important as families will be struggling with the cost of living. Continue lo develop
the publicity of BALPA to increase ￿venUeS. Action.. Develop more bursary funding as funds
have been depleted. Look al ways other than funding bids lo raise this money.
Risk.. Risk of reputational damage from adverse publicity. Controls: Good safeguarding
procedures. Monitoring of social media and linked sites. Social media policy issued lo all stsff
and volunteers. Action.. External publicity plan and procedures
The Trustees have continued to review the risks this year, with more regular financial
updates and being kept appraised of funding successes. The Trustees will continue to
monitor the risks bul are happy with how Inspire is progressing.
Future
The charity plans to continue to grow and develop BALPA over the next few years and is
looking to continue lo broaden ils work wilh schools and also make key partnerships with
other organisations to enable this grcmth to happen. The charity is keen to keep developing its
links into the local community and looks for every opportunity to grow these where
possible.

The trustees (who are also directors of The Inspire Arts Trust for the purposes of company
lawl are responsible for preparing Ihe Trustees. Report and the financial
statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting
Standards, including Financial Reporting Siandard 102= The Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {United Kingdom Accepted Accounting
Pracbcel.
Company law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year
which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the
income and expenditure, of the charitable company for that period. In
preparing these financial statements. the Trustees are required to:
select suitable accounting Fdicies and then apply them consistently,.
observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP-
make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
slate whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any
material departures disclosed and explained in the financial stalemenls,. and
prepare the financial slalemenls on the going concem basis unless it is
inappropriate to presume that the charitable company will continue in business.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose with
reasonable accuracy al any lime the financial position of the charitable company and
enable Ihem to ensure that the financial slalements comply wilh the Companies Act 2006.
They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and
hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other
irregularities.

Earfy Help Grant
This was given from South GlouCeSte￿h￿e Councl for the year 24125 to help towards setting up pre-school
aged dance dasses to aid s0uallsat￿n of pre4chool aged children post the Covid pandemic.
Stoke Park - Quartet Community Fund
This was given on the basis Il would be spent in the 24125 fin8nci81 ye8r to fvnd our quiet class which is for
children who struggle wth noise and who may have addit￿nal needs.
Society of Merchant Venturers
This was given on the basis tt would be spent in the 24125 linanual year to fund our WO￿ ￿1th the older

SGC Food Fund
This was given to help provide food pa￿1$ for families in need and to fund lunches for children during the
Activity Days we ran in Easter. May antl Sumn*r school holidays.
SGC Holiday Activity Fund
This was given to fund 110 bursary places for our sUmn￿r aclivity days.

This has been gwen to fund our General Manager Iwrking for the Charity one day a week and also 6 hours
per week of a receptionist for our class limes.
SGC Sparks Grant
This grant was given to help wn a community open day in September 2025.
Quartot Foundation Grant
This grant was given lo help e£Jver butsary pLg¢es for chiklren whosè families arè in severe financial diffi¢uKy.
Part of it was given for our partnership wth Jwsaw la kjcal chanty work wrth children wilh additional
