Activities

As a Charity, we are raising money to fund research into Microvillous Atrophy, a devastating and extremely rare condition of the bowel. We are concentrating on working towards discovering the mutations of the MYO5B gene, which was identified in August 2008 as the gene responsible for this condition. We are also helping to raise awareness of organ donation

Objects: (1) To Support And Promote The Relief Of Sickness Of Patients And Their Families At Primarily, But Not Exclusively, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Birmingham Children's Hospital And Edward House, By Providing And Assisting In The Provision Of Facilities, Services And Equipment Not Normally Supplied By The Statutory Authorities.(2) To Relieve Sickness By Supporting Research Into Microvillous Atrophy And By Ensuring The Publication And Dissemination Of The Results With The Aim Of Understanding, Treating And Curing The Condition, And By Raising Public Awareness Of Organ Donation, Particularly Combined Liverbowel Transplantation.
