Objectives and Activities Purpose The charitable incorporated organisation is established with the aim of promoting the education, development, and wellbeing of young people in Blandford Forum and North Dorset. Through a range of leisure and support activities, our aim is to enhance their physical, mental, and emotional capacities, enabling them to grow into confident, responsible members of society. Our objectives include- Providing a welcoming venue where young people can access information and meet. Employing experienced youth workers, supported by trained volunteers, to deliver se￿iceS at the centre. Offering advice and information on key issues such as housing, employment, relationships, sexual health, substance misuse, and social security benefits. Supporting the reduction of youth crime by creating opportunities to challenge anti-social behaviour through positive discussion and reflection. Helping young people make informed choices to achieve their full potential. Activitie5 Treads is a youth advice and and infomiation centre offering support and guidance to young people aged 8-25. Public Benefit The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty under section 17151 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. Achievements and Performance Founded over 24 years ago, Treads continues to provide a warm, friendly, and relaxed environment where young people can access information and be signposted to specialist agencies. We take a holistic approach to tackling the barriers that prevent young people from making Safe, healthy, and confident step5 toward5 independence. Our service is inclusive, professional. and trusted, empowering young people to stand on their own two feet and make informed decisions. To meet the diverse need5 Qfyoung people. we provide: Free counselling and high-support sessions (by appointmentl. . Advice and information via telephone, online meetings, email, and Social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter. Instagraml. . Opportunities for social interaction through focus group5 and community activities. Staff and volunteers work both one-to-one and in partnership with other agencies. Issues frequently addressed include mental health challenges, anxiety, self-harm. gender dysphoria. domestic abuse, substance misuse, bullying, and difficulties experienced by young people with neurodiversity. We actively encourage young people to have a voice in the community and challenge risk-taking behaviours through better information and advice. Young people are also involved in decision-making. with representation on the management committee. Participants gain skills to support victims of bullying, manage its impact. and promote positive peer relationships. . Weekly Anti-Bullying Workshops {Community-Based} Sessions held outside of school to help young people and adults overcome bullying in wider contexts such as the workplace and relationships. These workshops also address the impact of bullying on mental health. Bright Horizon A safe and welcoming space for young people with learning disabilities to meet peers, make friends, and learn new skills in arts, crafts, and cooking. .Welcome to Dorset A group supporting refugee children and young people. helpingthem integrate into the local community and build connections with peers. . One-to-one Support Throughout the year, staff have provided tailored one-ttrone support, ensuring young people receive personalised guidance and care. . Each activity is evaluated for its success and impact on young people. Representatives from funding partners and other organisations regularly attend open meetings, offering feedback and suggestions to improve services. The Receipts and Payments account recognises only morbey received and paid in the period and excludes the value of all other assets received in kind unless, and until, converted into money. Impact of the Change The current year's figures reflect actual cash movements only and exclude non-cash items such as depreciation, accruals and prepayments. Comparative figures for the previous year were prepared on an accuals basis and therefore include adjustments for income and expenditure relating to that period, as well as depreciation and other non-cash items.
