## **FieldFenn Trust** ## **Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31[st] December 2021** ## **Introduction and Objectives** The Field Fenn Trust is a registered charity, number 1111456 and is constituted under a deed dated 15[th] August 2005. The Trust was established to carry on the work Carol Fenn had been involved with and was passionate about prior to her death and was established by an initial gift in memory of her by Alan Fenn. The Objectives of the Trust are - a) To advance for the public benefit the conservation and protection of plant life and to advance the education of the public in horticulture. - b) The provision of grants to fund Christian youth work Since its inception the initial Trustees have been gradually raising the profile of the trust and with the yearly donations that have been made decided in 2019 that the Trust should increase the number of Trustees so it could move forward on a wider and stronger basis in tune with the demands of today’s society. Covid however regrettably slowed that process and it is therefore only in the past year that the Trust has once again been able to move forward as intended. The trustees meet on a regular basis to review grant applications, fund management, and fund raising and deal with matters as they arise. Among the items we have refocussed on as the Covid isolations were relaxed is our grant making policy and furthering the relationships established with organisations we have supported previously together with widening our review of organisations and individuals we may now be able to support. ## **Achievements** Although the year has been difficult with little fundraising and promotion of the Trust being able to take place we have been fortunate to receive a substantial new donation. The trustees are planning events and promotions for 2022 together with seeking new organisations suitable to receive grants. We are looking to provide the funding of the children’s educational facilities at a wellestablished and prominent garden establishment and the training of people to undertake Christian youth ## **Financial Review** The Trust’s work is entirely reliant on donation income and due to the effect the covid 19 pandemic has had, the trust did not make any grants this year. We expect however to make grants again in 2022. The financial position at the end of 2022 is strong and the yearly accounts are included at Appendix A, These and the basis of this report being agreed at the trustee meeting in May 2022 and have been examined independently. ## **Structure, Governance and Management** The Trust deed requires there are at least three trustees and there shall be at least two meeting per year. As result of the Covid pandemic meeting have been taking place via video link if necessary and a management policy is in place to cover this situation. All trustees are required to disclose all relevant interests relating to matters being discussed at meetings. No trustees declared any relevant interests during the year.
