Chairman’s Report
This year the Vision and Charity Objectives have been developed in new ways and have been overarched in prayer. I gratefully acknowledge the support of everyone who has contributed to the activities of the Ministry Worldwide.
In our Ministry we find ourselves in a challenging time and have had to adjust to changes especially in finding a place to Worship. We are in a temporary place of worship in Balham and thank God that this blessing is enabling us to continue our work. We are looking for a new place with much prayer and are boosting our building fund towards a deposit. We continue to support one another and to meet in homes for prayer, teaching, Home Groups and in our Mission Homes.
We have seen lives changed and the Ministry is continuing to hear from God and is pulling together in the work of the Lord. We have celebrated marriages, births and moving into new homes. We have travelled overseas with the Gospel and seen growth and powerful testimonies to the power of God with healings and faithful lives changed. We thank God for the faithful leaders worldwide who we pray for and who support us in the Vision.
This year our Apostle consecrated Apostle Christopher Odhiambo of Christ Visitation Centre, Magongo, Mombasa and ordained 10 of his leadership. This is a great move of the five-fold Ministry and we will continue to support him and his Church.
We thank those who contributed and worked diligently though this difficult period. God continues to move in power and by His grace we will continue to pray and see a future of hope and joy in Him. Please see our Ministry www.powerlivingword.org

Institute For Life (IFL)
The Institute for Life is the teaching Arm of the Ministry, founded to equip and perfect Ministers, Christian leaders and lay workers for the work of the Ministry in the Body of Christ for the Kingdom of God. To develop, enhance Christian education to higher levels to fulfil every calling/position within the Kingdom of God. To see the justification of investment in training for promotion in God. Recognising that Christians of all ages must never stop learning because as spiritual beings, new heights of experience are achieved through continuous learning.
This year the teaching has been on 1st Corinthians, Biblical Hermeneutics and we have started Homiletics. Ist Corinthians taught us how a defiled, divided and disgraced Church can hinder the progress of the Gospel. Biblical Hermeneutics is the science and art of interpreting the Bible. Homiletics is the Art of preaching. All valuable learning for Ministers of today.
There has been an increase in those attending the Institute and it has been good to see them apply the teaching in their lives. This year I have had the privilege of standing in for our Apostle while she has been away as a Tutor. I have appreciated the opportunity and the responsibility given, with the Apostle listening on zoom. This is how we are trained in the things of God, opportunity plus support and guidance to be the best we can be. I thank the Apostle for her continued support and guidance.
Very Rev Alison Trethewy
Biblical Hermeneutics Teaching
I have attended the Institute For Life since last September. I enrolled on 2 courses; the first was Biblical Hermeneutics (September 2023 to February 2024). This course has given me a greater understanding of the Bible, and how to interpret it.
I have been a Christian for over 30 years. I have also been in church for the same length of time. I am surprised this was my first time of hearing about Biblical Hermeneutics. I would have thought this would be taught in Churches and Ministries (standard).
The teachings I have received at POLWMI have made me realise just how Biblically and theologically illiterate I was, even though I was studying the Bible, attending Bible study/Church. In fact, I thought I understood the Bible. How wrong was I? (I didn't understand it to the depth required to live an effective Christian life - a life that reflects our Lord and Saviour Jesus).
Studying Biblical Hermeneutics has made me realise that a greater depth of understanding and skill are required to understand the Bible - hence spirit-filled Pastors, Teachers, Ministers (Church / Ministry) are a mandatory requirement for the body of Christ to be effectively equipped, and God's purpose here on Earth to be fulfilled.
4
I have grown a lot, especially in terms of my understanding of the things of God, what's required of me, and how I should live (an effective life for Christ - discipleship).
I really thank God for POLWMI, for their diligence in teaching and equipping the body of Christ, for proclaiming the full Gospel, and for continuing to uphold the standard of Christ.

Minister in Training
The confidence I have in God to be effective in who He has called me to be, continues to grow, and I am amazed to see His work in me and those around me. Being a Minister in training has shown me there is no limit to where God can take me in Ministry. In this Ministry we are afforded many different opportunities to participate in Ministry. From receiving teaching to being able to put it into practice by exhorting, preaching, teaching and leading Ministry prayers. Being involved in Ministry aids my understanding of how varied the work of Ministry is and how truly enriching it is to see not only others but myself also grow. I have an excitement and great anticipation of what God is going to do next in my life. I have learnt a lot about what He has already placed within me to do. I have benefitted from my own experiences but also hearing the experiences of others. This Ministry has created an environment in which I can learn and there is support, care and nurturing to help me on my way. Being taught there is not just one way of being a Minister, I have been empowered and I can pass that on to the next generation of believers.

DISCIPLESHIP IN ACTION 2023
Discipleship is an important aspect of the work of the Ministry. Discipling is the process of equipping, training and encouraging someone in their apprenticeship to Jesus. It means journeying with and helping another to grow in knowledge as well as in the virtues and chartacter of Christ. Going away together for a week focuses disciples on their calling and encourages them to put their teaching into practise. As an holistic Ministry we include many aspects of service and broadening of knowledge to work in a society that has all but rejected the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Women’s Meeting outside
A small party visited Windsor Castle to see the places where so much of our recent history in the UK has taken place. It was interesting to see where Queen Elizabeth II is buried and to hear about the significance of this Castle throughout the Centuries.
Disciplship enables competent Leadership to carry on the work of the Church. This is our aim in the Kingdom of God.

Vision Growth
Kenya was very impactful and a vital part of God’s unfolding vision. After 20 years of the Ministry working in Kenya, God was now revealing a deeper part of His vision for Apostle Dr Donnett Thomas.
Going to Kenya caused me to reminisce on past amazing events, like in Houston, Texas in 2003 when Rev Donnett became Apostle Donnett. The late Deaconess Lombe reminded us, we were the seal of Rev Donnett’s Apostleship (1 Corinthians 9 v 2) and this would change our lives in a moment.
Being her seal motivated us to attend her Consecration as an Apostle. We demonstrated to the USA brethren, we were wholeheartedly behind our leader, with great enthusiasm and zeal for God’s work and His plans for us all. We worked together and encouraged each other to make this trip possible.
Lone parents were encouraged and supported to make the trip and at least 4 mothers and their children went, regardless of the cost. God made a way as Houston was expensive, we stayed in the Marriott Hotel. Who would have known then what God had in store for the life and Ministry of our Apostle? It was a privilege and joy to witness a moment in the history of Apostle’s spiritual journey.
Fast forward 21 years and here I am again having the privilege of embarking on another missionary journey with our Apostle to witness God expanding His vision by taking it to a greater height and honouring the faithful obedience of His servant.
In May 2024. Apostle Donnett ordained 10 Ministers, including 4 Pastors, 4 Deacons, I Evangelist and 1 Elder, at Christ Visitation Centre, Magongo, Mombasa. It was an amazing day as we welcomed more labourers into His vineyard. There was such joy and jubilation throughout the well organised and impactful service as we gave thanks to God for His selection of these servants.
After the ordination on the Sunday, we had lunch with the Apostle-Elect Chris and his new leadership team. It was insightful to hear their thoughts on the service and their new responsibilities. Advice was given to help them to navigate their new paths which they appreciated.
On 18[th] May, Apostle Donnett consecrated Apostle-Elect Chris Odhiambo of Christ Visitation Centre in a powerful ceremony attended by Bishops, Pastors and others from many places in Africa. His leadership team worked hard and everything came together as evidence of their hard work. God provided all they needed, it was a joy to see a dedicated team depend on God to see them through. Faith like a mustard seed can produce great things.
Here was another opportunity on this Missionary journey for love to be expressed, knowledge to be gained, honesty to be revealed and hearts to be touched by God. It was so overwhelming in so many ways both personally and corporately and many tears of joy were shed.
I have seen God over the years watch attentively and caringly over both His servant and His Vision, which He has brought to pass in His own good time. This trip has sparked an intrigue in
7
me, to watch even closer, be focussed, listen more intently and to obey more faithfully to see what God will do with my life, as He unfolds what He has for me.
God has honoured His Apostle throughout the 21 years and provided for His Vision. To be able to see our Apostle Donnett consecrate in a new generation, Apostle Chris Odhiambo, showed me how faithful God is to those who are committed to His work and service. God has progressed His Vison and the work of this Ministry.
During this trip ‘I have seen again and again, just how amazing Our God is !!’

Reflections on My Journey to Kenya as a Sponsored Young Minister
As a young minister, the opportunity to travel to Kenya under sponsorship of “Power of the Living Word Ministries Intl” has been a profound and transformative experience.
In this report, I aim to provide insights into my journey, highlighting the significance of being sponsored and the impact of my visit to Kenya on both a personal and professional level.
The invitation to embark on this journey to Kenya came as a humbling surprise. The Trustees' decision to select me for this opportunity filled me with gratitude and a sense of responsibility to represent our Ministry faithfully. The process of being asked ignited within me a deep sense of purpose and a desire to serve beyond borders.
The support extended by my Apostle in sponsoring this trip was instrumental in making it a reality. From logistical arrangements to financial assistance, the sponsorship facilitated seamless planning and execution. It reaffirmed the commitment of Power of the Living Word Ministries to empower young Ministers and foster cross-cultural exchanges for the greater good.
My time in Kenya was nothing short of transformative. Immersed in a vibrant tapestry of cultures, traditions, and faith practices, I was enriched by the warmth and hospitality of the Kenyan people. Engaging with local communities, sharing in their joys and challenges, deepened my understanding of global Ministry and broadened my perspective on the universal values of compassion and solidarity.
The impact of my visit to Kenya resonates profoundly within me. It has enriched my Ministry with newfound insights, strengthened my resolve to advocate for global justice, and deepened my commitment to collaborative, cross-cultural partnerships. The experience has also left an indelible mark on my Ministry, inspiring me to expand our outreach efforts and embrace diversity as a cornerstone of our mission in India.
In conclusion, my journey to Kenya as a sponsored young Minister has been a transformative chapter in my personal and professional growth. I am deeply grateful to my Apostle and the Trustees for their trust and support, and to our Power of the Living Word Ministries Intl for championing opportunities for impactful cross-cultural engagement. I pray that this report serves as a testament to the power of sponsorship in nurturing future leaders and fostering global solidarity.

Objective 2 - The relief of poverty, suffering and distress of men, women and children across the world
The Menopause
In the Ministry I was asked to teach on the menopause, to raise awareness and give knowledge about this important change in a woman’s life. This awareness prepares women to be equipped to manage symptoms and reduce risk of long- term health problems. It is also about getting the right help, at the time, from the right people and making use of the best available resources.
This also helped the men in the Ministry, husbands need to know, fathers, and other family members. By raising awareness, some women have gone back to their workplaces, made enquiries as to what is available, and are now benefitting.
It is hoped the Ministry will be a source/resource for helping others to be equipped in their own lives, in the lives of their families, and in their communities. This equipping and educating will continue through the Women’s Ministry and True Redemption Apostolic Network.

Volunteering at the Royal Trinity Hospice, 30 Clapham Common North side
This Ministry offers opportunity to all its members, I am truly grateful to our Senior Pastor, Rt Rev, Apostle, Dr. Donnett Thomas, Honorary Ecumenical Canon, Southwark Cathedral.
For two years I have been volunteering as a member of the Spiritual Care / Chaplaincy team, it is a privilege. There was a very thorough selection process, followed by two months of training. I would also add that the training I received in the Ministry also contributed greatly.
Spiritual Care is a key part of holistic Hospice Care given. The Team, which is led by the Spiritual Lead / Chaplain, gives support, care, and comfort needed at this time. This is also given to the family and friends of the patients, and also to the Staff and Care Givers.
Members of the team are allocated each day of the week to visit with the patients and minister to them. This may be through prayer, reading of Scripture, or sometimes they just want you to sit with them. Some have requested Poetry Readings.
Some have requested planning their funerals, others have asked for advice about reconciliation and forgiveness. Whatever the need, it is always referred to the appropriate department. Some who have not been in fellowship for a while, request for their Pastor, Priest, Vicar or Spiritual Leader to visit them. This is usually arranged.
The Hospice also cares for those who have chosen to remain at home, and also for some in Nursing or Care Homes who are visited weekly or fortnightly, or contacted by telephone. Twice a year Memorial / Thanksgiving Services are held.
Spiritual Care Volunteers (and other volunteers) are very much members of staff. Training and updating is done on a monthly basis. It is necessary to complete some in house, non-clinical mandatory Policy, Procedures, and Guidelines yearly. I count it a privilege to be able to be able to represent the Ministry.

International Activities
Our commitment to Mission has been great this year and we have seen growth both in individuals and in the Churches we support. We have been to Kenya on three occasions and each visit has been a profound experience, despite the non-arrival of Apostle’s suitcase!! In June 2023 from our new Mission home in Mombasa we preached in Christ Visitation Centre, taught ‘Ministerial Ethics to the Leadership (at the request of Apostle-Elect Chris the Senior Pastor), were blessed by their Women’s Day service and ministered at their lunchtime meetings.
In October 2023, we invited Pastor Immanuel David from Chennai, India to join the Apostolic Team in Mombasa. He was a wonderful Ambassador as a student of the Institute for Life and excellent Pastor of Thundalam Evangelical Church. His wisdom and confidence to speak the Word of God was truly special to hear.
We ministered in Berean Bible Church, Christ Visitation Centre and Jomvu Church, a Branch of Christ Visitation Centre.

In May 2024, we ministered at Open Gates of Praise & Salvation in Nairobi. We taught the leadership and Apostle Thomas presented Certificates in Ministry & Leadership and to others, in Women’s Ministry, under the Institute for Life to students who had completed their studies. It was a wonderful occasion as some students had to wait over 12 years, through challenges within the Church and Leadership to complete their studies. They are to be commended for their perseverance, patience and diligence. This was a great occasion as we have worked with Rev George Ngalo the Senior Pastor for 15 years and congratulate him on this excellent achievement.

In Mombasa we were blessed to visit Berean Bible Church with whom we have had a 20 year relationship with Rev Ibrahim Oyoti. We have seen his Church grow, from a school room to their own plot and Church. We have developed lasting relationships with his family and the Church, including ordaining Rev Oyoti and his Ministers, preaching and teaching the Word of God for sustained growth and faith lived out in their lives.
In May 2024 we saw the greatest growth with Apostle Donnett Thomas ordaining 10 Ministers in Christ Visitation Centre and then consecrating Apostle-Elect Christopher Odhiambo as an Apostle.

We continued to teach in their lunchtime meetings over two weeks and brought the anointing of the Five-Fold Ministry to Christ Visitation Centre.
This year there has been much fruit from the years of investment given to Churches in Mombasa and Nairobi. Over the years Pastors and their congregations have grown in the Word of God and in their service to God. It has been a great privilege to visit these Churches and bring the Word of God which has changed lives and empowered the people to great things in their lives.

Creative Day
This year we held a creative day in an outdoor space, in my garden which had the space to house several creative workshops at the same time. We had working in clay, printing using Lino cut, and mosaic design on boxes, plus a children’s messy play area where children had the opportunity to explore papier mâché, and painting. We had a very entertaining and informative demonstration in creative food presentations from Pastor Seymour. The day with an outdoor cinema and barbecue with our wonderful AV team on hand to help bring it all together. Creative day brought us all together for a day of laughter and fun and an opportunity to try something new or simply to be creative.
Thank you to all who attended.

In Conclusion
Even though the building where the Ministry worshipped has changed, this has not stopped the work of the Ministry which has continued both nationally and internationally. We have adapted and embraced the changes but are ready for when God says move – it is your time for a new place. The building may have changed but the Ministry is steadfast in its commitment to further His Word.
During this time, Trustees have carried out their duties and supported Leaders. They have reviewed and updated Ministry Policies including Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Child Protection, been fully involved in the discussion about a new building for Worship and given a new lease of life to the Ministry’s website. Home (powerlivingword.org)
Objective 1 – Hour of the Word continues covering areas like the Gospel of Mark studying the Nature of Jesus and the importance of learning Doctrines (the truth of God through His Holy Bible) for direction and instruction of how we should live our lives.
Objective 2 – Apostle went on mission to Kenya to complete an important work of establishing an Apostle in Kenya. I was given the privilege of producing the Service Booklets for the consecration of Apostle-Elect Christopher Odhiambo as an Apostle. While typing the words that would be spoken by him/Apostle Donnett Thomas and the Ministers that were to be ordained, it filled me with a greater understanding of their important role in God’s Kingdom and the ‘high commitment to God’s authority over their lives.’
Objective 3 – Financial advice and support given from the General Secretary (Very Rev Alison Trethewy) on ‘Money Matters’ is always invaluable, and the Ministry has been given the tools to take action to ensure they have healthy financial practices.
So as we look to the future………..
Significant change brings challenge but also develops perseverance. As we Walk in Faith towards the finish goal together, we are grateful and thankful for what we have in Christ Jesus.
