Chairman’s Report
I gratefully acknowledge the support of everyone who has contributed in some way to developing the Vision and fulfilling the Charity objectives of the Ministry worldwide. The Trustees Board continued all activities and were able to sustain Pastoral care, teaching with all activities covered in prayer.
This has been a difficult year for us, made so, by the Church of England deciding to sell St Stephen’s Church where we have worshipped for 20 years. This came as a great shock as we have built a good relationship with the Clapham Park community, who regard us as their Community Church. They attend our services, bring their babies to be dedicated, have been baptised, their children attend our Vacation Bible School and they participate in our Creative Days and Precious Years 50+ Club.
With just three months’ notice to move by 30[th] April 2023, this severely disrupted the work planned for the coming year, as we no longer had premises to meet during the week. We moved to St Thomas’s Church as a temporary measure for Sunday Worship only. Other activities have continued in people’s homes, gardens and our office premises.
2022 was a good year with our many activities showing the presence of God in the community. We continue to teach the Word of God and many lives have been touched. After our Baptismal Classes, 16 people were baptised just before we left St Stephen’s Church.
Adjusting to having no formal home for the Ministry has highlighted how much we have come together and shared what we have with one another. People have responded positively to the situation and are continuing to bring their gifts and talents to continue the work of God regardless of the circumstances.
We have seen growth and powerful testimonies to the power of God to overcome in faithful lives and our community. I want to thank our Senior Pastor, Apostle Dr Donnett Th omas for her leadership steering us through this difficult time with confidence and love in the God we serve.
We have a new website and I want to thank those who contributed and will continue working on this platform for our Ministry www.powerlivingword.org.
I am grateful for every opportunity given and taken by those who faithfully believe and are used by God to His Glory. We will continue to praise Him as we seek His future for the Ministry.

Objective 1
Children’s Endeavour Ministries
Sunday Bible School (SBS)
Our Theme “How special we are to God “. Children come to class and enjoy showing and telling and sharing what they have learnt from the class and the homework given.
“The Inspired Word of God” children are learning that the Bible is a special book that will help them live a good life that is pleasing to God “. This is the greatest book and we are looking at the Pentateuch the first five books in the New Testament, learning the names of all 66 books.
We have connected by zoom again with Uganda and held joint classes with the children, so Sunday Bible School is truly International. Children have also attended when they visit London during school holiday.
We welcome children 3-12 to Sunday Bible School for one hour of fun in the Word. We have lessons through teaching the Bible, worship, presentations, expressions of design art, craft, games, singing and dance plus light refreshments. There is a well balanced plan for the children in order for them to learn in different ways.
We like to involve the parents in classes so they can see how their children are progressing.
It is a blessing to see how my children look forward to going to Sunday Bible School and how they have benefited from the sessions. The repetition of worship and praise songs benefits the children because they have now learned the words of the songs. When the children are at home, they sing the songs from Sunday Bible School.
Sis Tessa Umezurike
We welcome all children to join us and to establish the Children’s Endeavour Ministries and the Vision of Sunday Bible School for future Generations.
Rev Pastor Helen Smith
Ecumenical Activities
We attended Churches Together in Clapham (CTiC) meeting also the Easter Walk of Witness with the Fraternal of Clapham Park.

Young Endeavour Ministries VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - August 2022
Theme: ‘Kid’s say, Do it better’
B e E ncouraging and T ry T houghtfully to E xperience a good R esult
Each day activities, songs, drama and creative work centred on these aspects of life. The children really enjoyed exploring these concepts and created a book to take home with what they had learned and how they were going to change.
It was very encouraging to have young leaders join us who had grown up with VBS and were now able to help the younger children have fun. They learned about their strengths and how the children listened to them. Some found skills they had not known about and others just enjoyed the whole experience.
On Saturday, a pool party for the children and an Afternoon Tea for their parents was held in a garden. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day, sunshine, water and cream teas!!!

Objective 1
Institute For Life - Ministry of Helps Training
We learnt how spiritually important and aware you need to be as a part of the Helps Ministry.
It is more than ‘helping’ and being spiritually alert to the needs of others (even though this ‘gift’ is vitally important) it is the operation of ‘every’ member of the Body of Christ in establishing the Kingdom of God in our own life. At the centre of the teaching is the understanding and realisation that ‘we are part of something eternal when we fulfil our Ministry of Helps duties – using our God given gifts, abilities and talents to fulfil the vision.
During the training evenings, we learnt more about each other and saw how connective and interrelated our ‘Job Description’ was because we are all equally important as one body.
The candidates who completed the course of study in the Ministry of Helps were anointed and presented with certificates by Apostle Dr Donnett Thomas.
Sis Fay Bucknall
Discipleship in Action
Discipleship In Action is a time away in which we receive concentrated training through teaching, with workshops and exercises focusing on how do I action what I have learnt? This time away has given a good time to reflect on what I have done and what do I need to put in place in my life to move forward my discipleship before we even return home. I felt a great responsibility about my discipleship and how is it impacting others. I am challenged with what I already do, how can I do more, what impact does it have on others and their discipleship. By having a mix of activities, it not only enhances my understanding but really cements my learning so that it becomes part of my daily life. I have appreciated the effort our teachers have put in to bring discipleship together that they may see the fruit of it in my life.

International Activities
Mission trips are never easy and this year we had great bureaucratic and delivery problems in getting visas for all our travels. We had to change flight plans, rebook, and organise International Ministers who joined us. But God is always faithful and we were able, at the last minute, to reach our destinations in India and Kenya to bring the Word of God and serve our Churches. Faith increased in all the Churches who had been praying for our visa’s, as they saw us arrive in their Countries.
India – 30 September – 10[th] October 2022
It was so wonderful to finally be in Chennai after the pandemic to minister to the Churches we have seen grow since we first visited in 2015. Bishop Paul Makau, from Kenya joined us as part of the Team. There are now 10 churches and Apostle Donnett prayed for and anointed the Leaders of the new churches.
Happy you are here Praying for Church Leaders
A pioneering activity has been the lunchtime teaching in Thundalam Evangelical Church which has grown from a few women to an enthusiastic group who relish this opportunity to sit at the Apostle’s feet and listen to her teachings.
Lunchtime teachings
Apostle dedicated the new Metha Nagar Church building and we attended a service in the new Church.

We ministered in people’s homes, brought comfort to a grieving widow, and saw many prayers answered. The faith of these people of God is wonderful and a joy to be among them as we see what God is doing in their lives. They also appreciate Ministers of God and are thoughtful and very kind in their appreciation.
Discussion Comforting a Widow Praying for daughter
Kenya – 28 February – 22 March 2023
We decided to downsize our Mission home in Mombasa. How God found the right new property was truly amazing and we thank Bishop Paul Makau for going ahead of the Apostle and being in the right place at the right time. Our 18 years in the other property ended on 6[th] March 2023 when we moved. We thank Christ Visitation Centre brethren for their great help and support. They cleaned, packed, lifted, transported, unloaded and unpacked and refurbished for us alongside Rev Seymour and Rev Patricia Francis from London.

Apostle dedicated a baby at CVC Branch JOMVU (Aldina) and held a Ministers-in-training teaching for all potential Ministers. Prayers were answered and it was a joy to see many young people who had been under the Apostle’ teaching either now running their own churches or stepping up in Ministry.
International Pastors Prayers
Once a month we have met as Pastors to pray together internationally. This has been a lifeline to many Pastors and we have seen the Five-fold in operation. Pastors have joined us from Kenya, India, Tanzania and Uganda.

Precious Years 50+ Luncheon Club
Our Precious Years 50+ Club is in its 17th Year and the work and vision continues to move forward. We have continued to meet new visitors, families, friends who have attended. We offer friendship and provide Holistic care for those wanting a place to chat and visit and we help them to be mentally stimulated. We provide a place within the community to support and a place where we can spend some time together with a hot lunch.
We offered a Finance Workshop (CAP) which ran for 4 weeks and was attended by members of Precious Years plus a CAP client, all had a hot lunch.
We continue to meet in our mission home, in a home setting this year offering and enjoying gentle fitness exercises to the body, nail and foot care, quizzes, Bible Studies, films, and time to reminisce on life and sharing great memories.
I thank those who volunteer their time and care and support to the faithful members of Precious Years as it is a great fellowship to learn new skills.
We keep in contact with those who cannot come out by regular telephone calls so they know we are still thinking of them.
Rev Pastor Helen Smith
Here is a testimony from a member of precious years.
I Thank God for Precious years - I am very blessed when I come and I celebrated my birthday there. We share with each other and I thank Pastor Helen for this Vision. I love Precious Years and getting to know everyone and so much is offered to me. We have opportunity to try new things and learn new skills as well as serving and receiving advice to help us in our older years. Precious Years gives much for my life and others and the care, fellowship and warmth received.

The Women’s Conference
‘If you can see her, you can be her’
From the very start of the preparation for this Conference I was impacted by the theme ‘If you can see her, you can be her’. I was bold enough to say to myself, ‘since you can see her, be her’ and as host to the event I was courageous to give my testimony as an overcomer to encourage all the women present young and older.
The aim of the day was for women to hear women who are truly awaken, truly enlighten and quickened by the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit in their lives, that change really does take place in our lives and exploits can be achieved.
As women arrived, they were greeted with gift bags, treats on the tables, an invitation to see a box of delights and a photographic exhibition. Sandwiched together with making new friends, complimenting outfits and likeminded conversation.
I was so impressed by the effort women made to look good which complimented the venue in the Aerodrome Hotel, Croydon. The variety of age groups and a willingness to engage. This made me feel that such activities are a necessity in the Kingdom for female believers nationwide to come together as one church. I felt ‘Christian women need this’. They need to attend a lovely venue, look their best, meet likeminded women. Hear from great speakers, who were Alison Trethewy, Nakessa Simpson and Apostle Donnett. Have a buffet lunch. Tea and coffee breaks. A dance performance by Nakessa Simpson.
The event benefited so many. Women were able to share feedback after hearing each speaker how some of the illustrations were true in their lives, and now they know the steps to take to change it. Women shared their own achievements widely and with those on their tables, encouragement and support was in the air. The icing on the cake for me was an invitation was given to anyone who has heard and believes and wants to give their lives to Jesus. A young woman professed her faith in Christ Jesus and was prayed for. Yes, this is ministry, we are Power of the Living Word Ministries and advancement of the Gospel and relief of distress is part of our Vision statement.
I do thank God for this Conference and look forward to many more in the future.
Rev Pastor Pamela Dickenson
It was a privilege to attend the women's conference on 5th November 2022. From the outset it was clear that the conference had been planned thoughtfully with every effort to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for delegates.
"If you can see her you can be her" was an inspiring and challenging theme to ruminate and reflect on. This theme was enhanced by the testimonies and passionate presentations conveying how amazing our God is.
Thank you to all involved in the organisation and planning of this conference. I look forward to the next one.

Objective 3
Creative Day
This year has seen growth in the dance workshops. Anointed dance has acquired new members, who have a new enthusiasm and passion. We have choreographed two new dances which blessed the congregation and ministered to many. The dances blessed us as dancers and ministered so much to us first and we are so pleased that it ministered to others also. This year we have also seen new members using the gifts in dance to Minister in solo performances, which aided their own growth and confidence in expressing their own Love for God and His people. We look forward to anointed dance workshops in the future that will see members of anointed dance explore new heights in worship to our God and greater depths of ministering to Gods people.
This year creative evening has blessed many with crafts and techniques. Many found these workshops relaxing and refreshing.
We had a special Christmas creative evening where we learnt how to hand make our own decorations.
We have enjoyed painting and using creative techniques to respond to all the Christian teaching we have had in the ministry. This was followed by a special creative service where so many took part in ministering in a creative way, with painting, poetry and dance.
Creative day was a great success. We saw members and the community alike enjoy sewing, food, jewellery making, creative learning resources for children, natural juice making, massage and pampering, poetry, to name but a few. Everyone enjoyed being together and learnt so many new skills in a fun, relaxing and welcoming environment.
Sis Nakessa Simpson
Sunday Breakfast
In my role as Head of Hospitality it was my responsibility to arrange, prepare and oversea the Sunday Breakfast. These Breakfasts were held once per month, on the first Sunday. I worked closely with Minister Seymour, between the 2 of us we took it in turn (alternate months) to work out our own menus, to do the shopping and to prepare the items, both in our homes and in the Church Kitchen.
I found doing the Breakfasts very rewarding because I do have a love for cooking and for the organisation required to make the Breakfasts a success. I received satisfaction not only from the actual cooking and organising but also from the fact that the Brethren enjoyed and were grateful for what they received and looked forward to the once a month getting together and having fellowship over a meal. I benefited because I actually, very much, looked forward to the participating.
I see these Sunday Breakfasts as a good opportunity to continue what I love doing which is feeding people and also a time for fellowship, although short, but still valid.

International Day
The International Day which was held in July 2022, was organised by the Trustees. The Vision was to celebrate the different cultures within our Ministry and those represented in the commuity. We shared the Vision of the Ministry with the community. Neighbours visited and took part in activities. Those ‘passing by’ also took a keen interest as we were also asking for donations for a worthy cause - cancer research for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Apostle Donnett Thomas and Elder Colin Thomas joined us from Jamaica via zoom. Our neighbours requested prayer and we were privileged to be able to provide this. There was a time of thanksgiving through praise and worship.

Sports Day
Sports Day took place on 29th May 2023 at Tooting Common. We had a good turnout of members including the young people from the Ministry and everyone truly participated in the games. We were blessed with good weather for the day. Even though I was nursing some back pain, I was able to participate in the rounders and some races.
As always this was followed by a BBQ at our Sister Nakessa’s garden nearby where we all ate together.
I love the togetherness that Sports Day gives as people are able to be themselves in a different setting.
Sports Day contributes to the vision of our Ministry as it helps build the unity and togetherness required to truly enjoy being a member of the Ministry.

~~7~~
Christ Visitation Centre women Ministers-in-training teaching
