Established in 1986, EASO is a European scientific and practice-based professional membership association, with networks in over 30 countries. EASO considers obesity to be a health, research, and societal priority. It promotes the study of obesity as well as facilitating and engaging in actions that reduce the burden of unhealthy excess weight in Europe through prevention and management.

The Objects Of Easo Are To Promote The Preservation And Protection Of Healthand Relief Of Sickness For The Public Benefit In The Field Of Obesity And Its Relateddisorders By:3.1 Promoting Research, The Dissemination Of The Results Of Such Research Andexchange Of Scientific Information In The Field Of Obesity Within Europe;3.2 Developing A Deeper Understanding Of How To Achieve And Maintain A Healthybodyweight, And Managing And Preventing Obesity And Its Related Conditions Bythose Engaged In The Study Of Obesity, Healthcare Professionals, Health Relatedorganisations, Governments And The European Community.
