Annual Trustee Report – National Piers Society.

The Society has enjoyed a highly successful year, promoting it’s countrywide ‘Year of the Pier’ events which have included a series of online lectures, travelling exhibition of seaside pier posters and events on seaside piers as an important part of its aims and objectives.

There have also been members events including visits to seaside piers and the Annual General Meeting Gala Weekend. Membership has remained buoyant in challenging financial times where discretionary spend has been severely squeezed and the Society has used its finances prudently, living within its income means for the year without having to draw on reserves.

The Society is well places to capitalise on the success of ‘Year of the Pier’ moving forward and will continue to achieve its aims and objectives from a position of strength.

INDEPENDENT ACCOUNT INSPECTION. NATIONAL PIERS SOCIETY

I have examined the accounts for the year ending 31-12-23 and am satisfied that they are a true and accurate reflection of the National Piers Society finances for the year in question.

I have found no reason to question the accounts, nor have I found and breaches of rules in relation to charitable operation. The Society has managed its finances well, been totally transparent in its accounting methods and ended the year within its income and expenditure budget.
