In planning our activities for the year we kept in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit at our trustee meetings.

The main activities are as follows:

a programme of youth orientated events and activities
a range of outdoor activities
a summer camp in the Peak District

These activities benefit young people by developing their self-confidence and social, practical and life skills and providing opportunities for young Summary of the main people to become volunteers themselves. Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

As COVID-19 restrictions were eased our programme and fundraising were able to return to more normal arrangements.

We have continued to focus on meeting outdoors as this supports the aims of our programme. All sections have returned to a fully face to face programme and we were able to resume nights away.

Unfortunately our international expedition to Norway had to be postponed again as Scout Association rules did not allow international trips at the time. This has been rescheduled for summer 2022.

We were fortunate to be able to organise a trip to the Peak District at relatively short notice and make appropriate adjustments to accommodate COVID-19 rules. The trip was very successful. The young people and leaders were very happy to be able to camp again and took full advantage of the fantastic activities arranged by the Scout leaders.

Our membership remains strong with a waiting list for all sections. We continue to recruit more volunteer leaders.

Leaders have continued to develop their skills with a range of training courses undertaken including hill walking, canoeing and kayaking.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/03/2020 .
Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner's statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or
the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
