## **THE BAY CHURCH** 

## _**Trustees Report for the year ending 31 December 2020**_ 

- The church has maintained its life as a worshipping and witnessing community, albeit disrupted during covid-19 as most activities moved online 

- The weekly activities of the church are open to people from the community. Everyone is 

welcome. 

- Weekly activities include a meeting to provide practical support to women and children from a 

wide range of backgrounds. 

- Our Community Worker has been working with families in the community, with activities 

including home visits, English lessons, and helping children with homework. 

- Andrew Hadley continues to serve the church as pastor.

## **Basis of accounts** 

These accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. 

## **Funds** 

The Church operates unrestricted funds only. 

## **Assets and liabilities** 

As at 31 December 2020, the Church held cash and bank balances of £40,717. 

The Church is yet to claim Gift Aid rebate on donations received in the period 01.01.2020 to 31.12.2020. 

The Church had no significant liabilities as at 31 December 2020. 

## **Payroll and related party transactions** 

A related party transaction is one where a trustee or member of their family receives a payment or remuneration from the Church. 

Rev. Andrew Hadley, pastor and trustee, received a salary from the Church of 37500 per annum 

## **Approval of the accounts** 

These financial accounts were approved by the Trustees on 19th April 2020

## Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of The Bay Church Cardiff 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 December 2020. 

## Responsibilities and basis of report 

As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the 2011 Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out  under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act. 

## Independent examiner's statement 

I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: 

- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act or 

- the accounts do not accord with the accounting records 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
