Treasurer's Report for

Year to December 2021

The Covid pandemic has again played havoc with the school timetable this year but we expect a mark improvement for 2022. We have continued support for our linked schools and associated food and and agricultural projects.

We are sad to report the death of Gordon Bridger, a very long standing supporter of our work in Ugand and very grateful for the legacy of £20,000 left to us. It is our intention to use this money to fund community based projects and the trustees are looking at several very interesting proposals. The fund has been approved by the executors of his estate.

We ended the year with a surplus of £23,735 (£1,819 deficit last year) and the closing reserves are £37,386 (£13,651 last year) of which £5,850 has already been allocated (see below) leaving approximately £31,000 available for future consideration. Approximately £8,000 of the available reserves are being held to fulfil our remaining commitments to the Education fund.

We started the year with agreed project funding of £4,839 and made further allocations of £12,937 during the year. Details of project spending during the year are set out in the schedule attached to the accounts. After expenditure of £11,556 and transfer of unspent amounts back into general funds we have a closing balance of £5,850.

There was no movement in the Mukono bank account and the balance of £135 remains.

I would like to thank all our donors and supporters for the very generous gifts they made during the year and look forward to their continued support.

I regret this is my final report as I will be standing down on March 31, 2022 and would like to thank my fellow trustees for their support during my tenure.

Manni Nathoo - Treasurer

Independent Examination

Year to December 2021

I have inspected the records held in Guildford for The Guildford Mukono Link and I am satisfied that this is a true statement of income and expenditure in 2020 and funds held at 31 December 2020. I do not have access to the detailed records maintained in Uganda but I have seen the bank statement and can confirm the balance as reported in the accounts.
