Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

Covid has continued to significantly impact Fleecehaven during 2022 with all but one fundraising event being cancelled. The footfall at this event was significantly below pre-covid levels. However, the Fleecehaven Fundraising group continues to be successful and has gone someway towards making up for the shortfall resulting from events not taking place.

Adopt-a-sheep has continued to be popular with many ‘adopters’ renewing their adoptions, some for the fourteenth year. However, at the end of 2022 the number of adoptions had dropped slightly again from the end of 2021 with approximately 130 adopters. The number of visitors to Fleecehaven began to increase during 2022 as post-covid travel, especially within the UK, began to resume.

A Fleecehaven Calendar and Christmas Cards were produced again to raise much needed funds. However, increased costs have resulted in the margins made being significantly reduced. The website continues to provide access to information and an on-line shop.

Fund raising through EasyFundraising, EasySearch, Amazon Smile and Recycle4Charity continued to be promoted. More than 100 rescued sheep continued to be cared for daily throughout 2022. Although Fleecehaven continues to run at full capacity, several new rescues were taken in.

**Report to the trustees/** Fleecehaven **members of On accounts for the year** 31[st] December 2021 **Charity no** 1111004 **ended (if any) Set out on pages** 1-2 (remember to include the page numbers of additional sheets)

**Respective** The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. **responsibilities of** The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year **trustees and examiner** under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

   - examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,

   - to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and

   - to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

- **Basis of independent** My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given **examiner’s statement** by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

**Independent** In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention **examiner's statement** (other than that disclosed below *)

1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements:
