## Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

Covid has continued to significantly impact Fleecehaven during 2021 with all but one fundraising event being cancelled. However, the Fleecehaven Fundraising group continues to be very successful and has made up for the shortfall resulting from cancelled events.

Adopt-a-sheep has continued to be popular with many ‘adopters’ renewing their adoptions, some for the thirteenth year. At the end of 2021 the number of adoptions had dropped slightly with approximately 150 adopters.

The number of visitors to Fleecehaven began to increase during 2021, although strict social distancing measures were put in place to ensure the safety of all.

A Fleecehaven Calendar and Christmas Cards were produced again to raise much needed funds.

The website was significantly updated on a voluntary basis by Colin Peacock with the on-liine shop being greatly improved.

Advice regarding care of sheep has been given to a growing number of people. Common areas of enquiry include:

- the care of elderly sheep who require additional feed as grazing is no longer sufficient to sustain them;

- information regarding flock management;

- advice regarding medical treatment for pet sheep;

- – advice on how  to  report a farmer who  was allegedly neglecting stock;

- information on the need for sheep to be shorn;

- other welfare matters pertaining to sheep.

Fund raising through EasyFundraising, EasySearch, Amazon Smile and Recycle4Charity continued to be promoted.

More than 110 rescued sheep continued to be cared for daily throughout 2021. Although Fleecehaven continues to run at full capacity several new rescues were taken in including a ewe lamb found abandoned with an ear tag number that Defra were unable to trace. She was emaciated and suffering from a server foot condition.

**Respective** The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. **responsibilities of** The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year **trustees and examiner** under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
