The Foo of the Trnste8s for the Y Ended 31 Mar( 2021 During the pandemic we ha been unable to visit people in kylson. hiAv8%er at the stsrt of the lockdovm in Marth 2020 we worked suctsssfully with the prison r8setUement teams to gain inf0mtIon from dients. As lod(down progressed and the resettlement team were not ab to faalitate this ¢x)ntact, we moved our support to a mail and email based system. encouraging people to tske ownership of their own needs assessment and produce an action plan for their release. Our volunteer mentors and staff help peopl6 su¢xessfulty r&lntegrat8 into sooety and thereby reduc4 the rlsk of their re-offending. Footyrints takes refetrals from Y prison. In previous years referrals have been contsntraled from oureight local prlsons (HMP Portland. HMP The Veme, HMP Guys Marsh, HMP Channings Wood, (all in Dorset and Devon), HMP Wncester (Hampthire). HMP Bronzefièld (Middlesex). HMP Send {Surrey) and HMP East Woodpark (Gloucestwshire)). Hth¥e%r, thls y8ar we have seen 18 prisons referrlng people to us. We presum& that the increase was to Ihe impact of the pandemic. r&ludng the capadty In lo1 prlsons and incfeasing the dlstance people Vre located from home. This yearwe have not been able to meet peopl8 at the gate. however have been able lo offer phone support on the day of releasé and, when lockdown poliaes allo¥d. meet people on the day of release in the local community. Wom8n who are dassffied as vulnerable under the Police and Criminal Eviden Act ('PACE") regulatlons and are either first lime offenders or have not offended in the past two years r1ve a condltional c2ution and the opportunity to work with us for 16 weeks rather than progresslng to court. Women will meet wllh our spécialist worker a week and may be offered addltlonal volunteer support. The Footprints Project Ltd and Parkslone United RefonTd Churc de(aded to end our parlnershlp encompassing the Life Works project as of the 31st Marth 2021. Life Works has offered holistic support and volunteering opportunities lo marginalised people 0r the past 5 years. Based at the Parkstone United Refornd Church sile in Poole the project wpportèd up to 100 people a year, with many progressing into lUntary or paid work or retuming to further studies. We woukl like to thank all the staff. volunteers and supporters involved In the projèct for their valuable contributions. We were awarded a commendation for our women's work from the Howard Lea8ue for Penal reform, shortlisted as outstanding Local/Regional Organisation of the year in the Criminal Justice Alliance awards, and received 2 community awards from the High Sheriff of Dorset.
