The Trustees present their annual report and financial st*emenls for the year ended 31 Augtjst 2025.
The financial statements have been prepared in S￿ordanCe the accounting policies set out in note 1 to tho
financial slalements and compty with the charities governing instrument. the Charities Act 2011 and 'A¢counling and
Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Ptath"ce applicab￿ lo chatitie5 preparing their accounts in
accordance wlh the Finanaal Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS
1021" leffeclive 1 January 2019).
The Trustees are satisfied wth the perfom)ance of the chanty during the year and the position at the year end and
consider that the charity is in a strong positson to continue rts activities during the comng year and that the ¢haritls
assets are adequate to fulfil rts obligations.
The prewous Royal Ballet School Parent Texher Association gained tharilable slalus on 22nd July 2005 and the
tharity is now govemed by a tnjsl deed.
Objectlves and a¢tlvltteS
The objective of the asswation is lo advance thè education of pupils in the sehool in particular developing effect¢ve
relationships be￿een the stsff. pafenls and others associated wlh the schoot and engaging in activities or
providing facilities or equipment whith support the school and advance the education of the PL¢piIs.
The association aims lo support the activitses of The Royal Ballet Sthool in the education of ils students by
provlding f8cililies for the benefit of students. These facilib.es indude equipment for use by the students in the
course of their general edtjcalion an(5 bal￿t training and also their general wellbeing in the boarding
environment.
The assoualion also supports events organised lo develop relationships belween staff. parents and students which
are essential due to the specialisl naiure of the education and training given and the boarding environment in which
it takes place.
Irtr order to ftJEfiI ils o*'ectives. the a5socith.on has enga9ed in fundraising activities to provide adequate funds which
can be disbursed.
The Trustees have paid due regard lo guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deading what activities the
should undertake.
Achievements and perforniance
Ftjnd raising aCtiv￿$S tncreased significanuy on the prior year as did the charitable activities of the associatson. A
small surplus recorded for the year which the trustees consider to be sab"sfactory.

The Trustees have resofved lo establish reserves to provide for future activities.
The policy on ieserves is that the existing assets are retained to enable grants lo be made lo The Royal Ballet

The Royal Ballet School Parent TeacherAssouation is a unincoTporaled charity established by a trust deed on
23 Oclobei 2004 .
1.1 Basis of preparation
The financial slalemenls have been prepared in accordance with the 's governing document, the Charities Act
2011. FRS 102 "The Financial ReKx)rbng Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the
Charities SORP ' AccoLFnting and ReFx)rtFng by Chariti"es.- Slalement of Recommended Practice applicable lo
chaiilies preparing their accounts in accordance wth the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK
and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102)" The is a Public Benefit Enb"ty as defined by FRS 102.
The ffinanual statements have departed from the CharitÈes {Accounls and Reports) Regulations 2008 only lo
the extenl required to provide a true and fair wew. This departure has involved followng the Slalement of
Recommended Practice for charities ap￿YIng FRS 102 rather than the version of the Slalement of
Recommended Practice which is referred lo in the Regulalions but vthich has since been ¥wthdrawn.
The financial statements are prepared in sleTling, which is the functional currency of the . Monetary amounts
in these financial slatements are rounded lo the nearest £.
The financial stslemenls have b￿n wepared under the historical cost cL)nvenlion, modified to indude the
revaluation of freehold properties and to indude investment properties and certain financial inslrunenls al fair
value. The principal accounbng ￿l￿eS adopted are set out below.
1.2 Going concern
Al the lime of approving the financial stslement5, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the has
adequate reSoUr￿S to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the Trustees
continue to adopt the g¢ing t>)ncem ba￿S of accounb.ng in prepartng the financial statements.
1,3 Charltable funds
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discreb.on of the Trustees in furtherance of their charitable
objeth'ves.
Reslricled funds are subject lo Spe￿fiC condrtions by donors or grantors as lo how they may be used. The
purposes and uses of the reslricled funds are set out in the notes lo the finanaal slalemenls.
Endowment ftjnds are subject to 5pecffic corKlib"ons by donors that the (apilal musl be maintained by the
charity.
1.4 Income
Income is recognised when the is legalty entitled lo il after any performance Condilions have been met. the
amounts Can be measured rella￿y, and il is probable that income will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are ￿COgnised once the has been notified of the
donation, unless performance conditions require deferral of the amount. Income lax recoverable in relation lo
donations received under GrftAid or deeds of covenant is re¢￿￿nised al the lime of the donation.
Legacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise if the has been notified of an impending distribution, the
amount is known. and receipt is expected_ If the amount is not known, the legacy is treated as a contingent
asset.

1.6 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or ￿nst￿ctIve obligation to transfer economic benefit lo a

the obligation can be measured ￿lIablY.
Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs of each activty are made up of the total of dIr￿t costs and
shareLI costs, including support costs invofved in undertaking each aclivity. Direct costs attribulatAe to a single
activity are allocated directly to that actwity. Shared costs which contribute to more than one activity and
support costs which are not atthbutable to a single activity are appO￿'0ned between those activities on a basis
consislenl with the use of resources. Central staff costs are allo¢aled on the basis of tsme spent, and
depreciation charges are allocated on the portion of the asset's use.
1.6 Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand. deposrts held at call wilh banks, other short-lerm liquid
inve5tment5 Nvith original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown
thin boffowings in cuirenl liabilitses.
Basic financial assets
Basic finar*cial assets, which indu(fe debtors arKI cash and bank batances, are initially measured al
transaction pri￿ including transaction costs and are subsequently cairied at amortised cost using the effeciive
interest method Un￿$$ the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaction is
measured al the present value of the future receipts discounted al a market rate of interest. Financial assets
dassified as recetvable wlhin orie year are not amortssed.
Basic financial liabilities
Basi¢ financial liabilities, induding cre(Jitors and bank loans are initially recognised al transaction price unless
the arrangement conslilutes a financing transaction. where the debl instrument is measured al the present
value of the future payments discounted at a maTkel rale of interest. Financial liabilities da5sified as payable
thin one year are not amortised.
Debt inslrufflents are subsequently carried at amoth.sed cost. using the effecttve interest Tate method.
Trade creditors are oblwJatbons to pay for goods or ServI￿S thal have been acquired in the ordinary course ol
operalioris from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as cutrent liabilities if payment is due within one

Derecognition of tinancial liabilities
