Introduclion
Dear Portners. Parents & Practitioners.
As this year closes out, and we look towards what we hope is an end to this pandemic
season, we are faced with a looming cost of living crisis and a series of challenges that
will continue to apply pressure to families at a time when many have been through the
most difficult of seasons.
As we transition to a post-pandemic way of living. we have been extremely encouraged
by the support that has allowed Genesis Impact to deliver impactful and life-changing
programmes for many of the parents & families we have encountered.
To our partners, it is through your generosity. kindness, funding & openness that we
have been able to live out our mission to strengthen communities and foster family unity
in a period of history that has tested every one of us in a deeply personal woy. We look
forward to continuing this meaningful and impacting work with your continued support.
To our parents and practitioners, we recognise the tangible impact that your
contributions have had on the lives of many. despite your own family commitments and
responsibilities in an equally testing time in this season. Please accept our thanks and
appreciation for your dedication, tenacity and resilience to deliver consistently
outstanding work.
As a board, we pray that you. and your families, remain safe and are able to recharge
to tackle this new season we are about to enter into.
Yours faithfully,
Babafemi Taiwo,
Chair of Board and Trustee

Raising Aspirations
Our Raising Aspirations Programme was born out of noticing the effect of Covid-19 on BAME communiiy in particular. We
found thal our communities were facing barriers such as unemployment and a lack of access to information regarding
avenues that can be lable lo work loward a holislic lifeslyle. This Programme focuses on avenues for increasing the
Aspirations of benef iciaries and includes multiple workshops providing guidance on areas such as employment, healthy
eating and Educalion. We work with individuals from different economic and social background. In this programme we
recognise the effect of Covid-19 in a variety of communities. We have been able to Raise Aspirations in our communities in
number of ways such as supporting with career change and career progression, encouraging our beneficiaries to upskill
and seek higher educalion and introducing a peer mentoring scherne ihat gives parents the opportunily to better
themselves and others. Raising Aspirations has resulted in our parents nol only bettering themselves, but also working
towards raising ihe aspiralions of Iheir children and finding avenues to help them build brighler futures. We are proud to
have been able to use hybrid delivery to reach individuals that we would have othenyise not had contact with for examples.

Genesis Impart is a good organisation that likes touching people's
life. They have touched my life and the lives of my children.
When I was going through difficult time, I meant Genesis Impart

I have a daughter in Year 3 at Hawksmoor Primary School. 15Larted attending the classes early last
year when my elder sister introduced me to Miss Foluke.
I can say that I have benefited immensely from all the programmes. I have completed several
classes.. Safeguarding Children. Time Out for Parents (The Teenage Years). Creativity in Learning
and so on. just to mention a few.
This year, 2020 especially, the classe5 have been instrumental in my coping with the Covid 19
pandemic. The Wellbeing classes via zoom were God sent. It helped me to effertively cope with
the stress of the lockdown, especially seeing other mothers and sharing our deepest thoughts
and fears. These helped me to put my mental health in check. It also helped me to be a better
mother to my daughter5 by being physically. mentally. spiritually and emotionally ready at all
times.
The Fitness Classes via zoom was a lot of fun. The atmosphere in each class was lively and
enjoyable. It was a great way to get a workout in without having to think or plan. Each class was
structured with a warm-up. a balanced workout and a cool-down.
The Book Club has been amazing. It has helped me to gain new perspectives. Learn to think
critically and give a voice to my ideas. l also learnt how to converse more productively with others.
In conclusion. I couldn't have achieved all that I mentioned above without the help of our Amiable
Facilitator. Miss Foluke. Who is very great at bringing people together. Has excellent
communication and interpersonal skills and m05t of all fflake all the classes lively and enjoyable.

**GENESIS IMPACT Notes to the Accounts for the year ended 31 July 2021**

## **1 Accounting policies**

## _**Basis of preparation**_

The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with FRS 102, The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (as applied to small entities by section 1A of the standard).

## _**Income**_

Incoming resources are accounted for on a receivable basis.

## _**Tangible fixed assets**_

Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulative depreciation and any accumulative impairment losses. Depreciation is provided on all tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, at rates calculated to write off the cost, less estimated residual value, of each asset evenly over its expected useful life, as follows:

Freehold buildings over 50 years Leasehold land and buildings over the lease term Plant and machinery over 5 years Fixtures, fittings, tools and equipment over 5 years

## _**Debtors**_

Short term debtors are measured at transaction price (which is usually the invoice price), less any impairment losses for bad and doubtful debts. Loans and other financial assets are initially recognised at transaction price including any transaction costs and subsequently measured at amortised cost determined using the effective interest method, less any impairment losses for bad and doubtful debts.

## _**Creditors**_

Short term creditors are measured at transaction price (which is usually the invoice price). Loans and other financial liabilities are initially recognised at transaction price net of any transaction costs and subsequently measured at amortised cost determined using the effective interest method.

## _**Provisions**_

Provisions (ie liabilities of uncertain timing or amount) are recognised when there is an obligation at the reporting date as a result of a past event, it is probable that economic benefit will be transferred to settle the obligation and the amount of the obligation can be estimated reliably.
