Activities

Causeway supports marginalised and vulnerable people to recover from trauma and develop safe and fulfilling futures. Our modern slavery and crime reduction services include safe houses, outreach and community programmes, holistic crisis interventions and signposting into counselling, training and employment. We drive change nationally through research, campaigning and strategic partnerships.

Objects: 3 Objects 3.1 The Objects Of The Charity Are: 3.1.1 To Relieve The Hardship And Distress Of Men, Women And Children Who Have Been Victims Of, Or Are At Risk Of Becoming Trapped In The Cycle Of Crime And Exploitation Through The Provision Of Needs-Based Support And Care; 3.1.2 To Relieve The Need Of Persons:a) Who Are Survivors Of Modern Slavery, Or Those Suffering From, Or At Risk Of, Abuse (including Domestic Abuse), Hardship, Distress, Or Homelessness By Providing Accommodation And Related Support Including The Provision Of Education And Training To Promote Employment, And To Support Those So Affected To Recover, Develop And Be Equipped And Empowered To Live More Independently; B) Who By Reason Of Having A History Of Criminal Offending, Or At Risk Of Developing A History Of Criminal Offending, In Particular By The Provision Of Support, Accommodation And Assistance Including Case Working, Advocacy, Training And Related Support Services; And To Provide Support, Guidance And Training To Help Prevent Future Offending;3.1.3 To Relieve Unemployment And Advance The Education And Training Of Marginalised And Vulnerable Groups, By Providing Training, Mentoring, Advice And Guidance To Assist In Finding Identifiable Routes Into Employment; And3.1.4 To Advance The Education Of The Public And To Promote Public Awareness And Understanding Of The Charitable Needs Of And Causes Of Hardship Among Beneficiaries Of The Charity (the “objects”). 3.2 Nothing In These Articles Shall Authorise An Application Of The Property Of The Charity For Purposes Which Are Not Charitable In Accordance With Section 7 Of The Charities And Trustee Investment (scotland) Act 2005 And/or Section 2 Of The Charities Act (northern Ireland) 2008.
