Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

  1. The charity has continued to be involved with a ‘Green Hydrogen’ project at Nottingham Trent university, which also has the potential to have value in the field of ADP (Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Parkinson’s) research. During late 2023 and early 2024, meetings have been held with the team at NTU to explore means to continue the cooperation.

  2. Following a change in the chairperson of the charity due to illhealth, progress has been made in the development of the charity’s wider grant funding and other strategies, governance and oversight approach, with the aim of implementing this during 2024/25.

  3. The solar farm constructed by West Beacon Solar Ltd (which is wholly owned by the Charity) continued to operate effectively during 2023, resulting in ongoing income for the company during the financial year.

Responsibilities and basis ot report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act"). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: the accounting records were not kept in accordance With section 130 of the Charities Act. or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records. or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
