The Board meet regularly throughout the year, as well as annually for the AGMs. All Trustees give their time freely, and receive no remuneration for their time.

In addition to the Trustees, there are 9 other volunteers (and also parents of children at the school) that form St George’s School Association (or the Helping Hands PTA).

Type of Governing document - Constitution.

## **The Board of Trustees**

The Board of Trustees is legally responsible for the strategic direction, policy and overall governance of the Charity. The Trustees are elected annually at the AGM.

## **Charitable Objectives**

The aim and objectives of the Charity are to advance the education of the pupils in the school, in particular by:

- Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school.

- Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advances the education of the pupils.

Our overall aim is to raise much needed funds for our school. Due to cuts in budgets, our school is under immense pressure to be able to provide our children with the basics. So we aim to provide the children at the school with the resources to enhance, enrich and improve the children’s experience during their time at St Georges Primary School.

## **Financial Review**

The Charity Remains in a strong financial position. Over the course of this time period our work focused on 3 main fundraising events, the Summer Fayre, the Christmas Fayre, and also a new fundraising idea, the Circus.

The Summer Fayre was held on Sunday 11[th] June 2023. It was a great success and was very well attended and supported by parents, teachers and local families. It was a great opportunity for us to hold a community, family friendly event. The Summer Fayre raised an income of £16,610 with £9,433 profit (which was an improvement on the 2022 Summer Fayre).

The Christmas Fayre was also well supported, and was a fun and festive day of fundraising. Both of the fayres were supported by local business in the form of the donation of prizes and gifts, and also via Sponsorship and Advertising. The Christmas Fayre 2023 made a profit of £5,206.

In 2023 we also hosted Happy’s Circus on the 14[th] October, which was a new fundraising venture for us. The Circus was another fantastic day full of fun and community spirit. The income from the Circus was £9,514 and the profit was £4,507.

The Annual Accounts show our total income for 2023 was an incredible £43,080, with a profit of £24,030. The Bank Balance at the end of the time period was £12,473, with £2,029 in the Reserve Account. Please see the Annual Accounts 2023 document for further Financial details.

## **Reserves and Reserves Policy**

During the financial year, the cash reserve accounts have been monitored to ensure that at any given time sufficient funds are available to manage the day-to-day cash flow and to cover unanticipated expenditures. In addition, we have a Reserve Account which we aim to keep at a balance of £2,000.

## **Charitable Activities**

In addition to the 2 Fayres and the Circus, we held a variety of other smaller fundraising events throughout the year.

These included an Easter Egg Hunt which made £600 profit, and a Smarties Challenge which made £539 profit.

## **Achievements & Performance**

In 2023 The St Georges School Association had another incredible year of fundraising which will help to enrich the lives of the children at the school. The School Senior Leadership Team have a variety of objectives for us to fundraise for in the future, including funding for a new awning for the Nursery and Reception playground area.

In 2023 we donated a massive £28,103 to the school, which will make a massive difference to the children and their school experience.
