A5 and when Ft becomes appropriate existing Trustees issue invitations for anyone wishing to serve as a Trustee to make an application in writing. Such applications are considered and vi)ted on by the Board of Trustees. One Trustee is appointed annually (ex-offiao) by the Ancient Order of Foresters, however all applicants for a post are advised to familiarise themselves with the guidance issued by the Charity Commission for England and Wales as to fitness and suitsbility. The day-to-day administration of the Tnjst for the peric#J I" January 2023 - 31 December 2023 was carried out by Janet pIey, Trus who also held the role of Treasurer. The provision of front-line services was provided by Peter Nixon (Curator). nd The gross income of the Trust during 2023 amounted to £99,520.92 (2022 - £46,659.72), with total expenditure of £43,808.39 (2022 - £34,559.47). A copy of the 2023 Accounts is appended.
Prin The major financial fvnding received by the Trust during 2023 came from two sources. The first was derived from delegates to the Foresters Friendly 9xiety annual national conference in June 2022 passing a re9)lution authorising financial support from Branch funds as at the end of 2021. The amount paid into the Trusys Bank Account in 2023 was £39,673.62. The second came from a one-off appeal by the President of the g)oety during his year in Offi which raised over £55,000 The Trustees agreed that £30,OC() should be invested in a suitable interest-tearing investrnent and that a maximum of £IO,CK)O be invested in units and £20,000 in depots. However, this is on hold pending urgent repairs to Ststion thambers, The Boulevard, Tunstsll, Stoke-on-Trent 6DU. sin None of the funds of the Trust are in deficit. Inde Exami of Ac(Dunts The Trust uses R.K. Layn & Co for the examination of its annual account. A copy of the report is appended. The Trustees continue to hold fa to face or vifwal meetings at least four times a year and otherwise when necessary. The Museum is open to the public on the first and third Saturday of each month and groups can be accommodated on other days by arrangement with the Curator. The Trust&s have decided to apply to the Charity Commission for the registration of the Foresters Heritsge Trust as a Charitsble Incorporated Organisation in 2024. ntin Work continues on the acquisition, presen4ation and stabilization of exhibits. Digitalization of documents held by the Museum to aid research and the preservation of records will be Commen in 2024. Severdl companies have been identified to condurt the work and an agreement will be signed with one of them in early 2024. Meanwhile work indexing the documents in the archive storage racks is ongoing. Volunteers are being sought through local branches of the Foresters Friendly gxiety and contstt continues with the Stoke on Trent Museum serwces.
