TRUSTEES REPORT 2023

Income

The year 2023 has been another excellent year of giving by the church; you are to be commended for your faithfulness. Giving for mission has continued to help us bless, our missions in Kenya. The total income for 2023 was 60k. We are glad to report that included in this figure we were able to get back in £18,600 in gift aid from TAX.

Expenses

The total expenses were 52k for 2021, this includes 3.6k to mission. The remaining figures are the employment finances and general running costs of the church.

PASTOR’S REPORT EVENTS

2023 We are still recovering numbers wise from covid. We have proceeded with becoming part of Elim and are looking forward to having a new minister join us.

Preaching - We have continued to air live on Facebook Live and where possible eventually downloaded onto website, we have seen a good number of people connect with these platforms. I think 168 was the highest.

Prayer - We have continued to make Original design a part of our regular prayer times, especially for new comers or visitors to the church.

Worship – It has been a great joy to have live worship again with this amazing Worship Team.

Elim - We have met and interviewed a young man named George Whittome, with a view to inviting him to join Regis as assistant pastor and to begin his ministry from January 1[st] 2024

MISSION

We continue to support the boy’s home in Kenya receiving regular updates on the children’s progress. We are continuing supporting a local charity supplying gifts for families at Christmas

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

Examine the accounts (under section 145 of the 2011 Act;
To follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
State whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner’s statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements
to keep accounting records in accordance with section130 of the 2011 Act; and
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act

have not been met: or

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
