GRACE CHURCH ( SCOTTER & DISTRICT )
REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[ST] MARCH 2021
The Trustees have pleasure in submitting the Report and Accounts for the year.
Objects of the charity
A) To advance the Christian faith in Scotter and in such other parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Trustees may from time to time think fit and to fulfil such other purposes which are exclusively charitable according to the law of England and Wales and are connected with the charitable work of the Trust.
B)To relieve persons who are in conditions of need or hardship or who are aged or sick and to relieve the distress caused thereby in the said location and in such other parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Trustees may from time to time think fit.
Government
The policy and operating decisions of the charity rest with the Trustees who meet regularly to monitor the activities of the Trust.
New Trustees are appointed by the Trustees.
Review of Activities
The Church is not a building, but a gathering of ordinary people of different ages and backgrounds, whose lives have been changed by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The New Testament reveals the Church as a community of people, properly taught and cared for, whom by loving and serving Jesus Christ, were also committed to love and care for each other and to bring a blessing to the area in which they lived. Grace Church, its trustees, elders and members are committed to the restoration of those New Testament principles. It is not alone in this, it is one of many Churches in the area, country and all over the world that is re-discovering the excitement of knowing Jesus Christ. The vision is to see the people of the Scotter District come into this experience of knowing Jesus as their Lord, Saviour and friend.
During the year there has been a demonstrion of the Christian faith in action by serving the community at home and abroad in the following ways.

We are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable us to ensure that the financial statements comply with Charities Act 2011.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF GRACE CHURCH ( SCOTTER & DISTRICT )
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31[st] March 2021 set out on pages 7 to 9 which have prepared on the basis of the accounting policies on page 10.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The trustees of the charity are responsible for the preparation of accounts; they consider that the audit requirement under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 ( the Act ) does not apply. It is my responsibility to:
-
Examine the accounts under Section 145 of the Act.
-
Follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners made under section 145 (5) (b) of the Act.
-
State whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent examiner’s report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner’s statement
Based on my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect, accounting records have not been kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act, or that the accounts presented do not accord with those records, or comply with the accounting requirement of the Act. No matter has come to my attention in connection with my examination to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
