Annual General Meeting 8" May 2024 Report from the Chair
Introduction
It is a requirement of our Constitution and the Charity Commission that an Annual General Meeting is held once a year to formally review the events of the past year, present the accounts for ratification and outline ideas and plans for the year ahead. This AGM is open to all staff and parents and has been advertised in the School Newsletter.
The Committee
The previous committee saw some committee members changes after the last changeover. Current Committee Members are as follows: -

We also have Kim Botham and Naz Ozdemir on the Events Committee.
Events Held during the Year
We hada successful turnout to our 3rd Family Fun Day in September and this will now be a permanent fixture in our calendar. We were very lucky to be Sponsored by Odessey Gym and Spa and they provided invaluable assistance throughout the Festival. Funfair games stalls were a success again.
The Fireworks Display returned again in November which had an amazing turnout to the point we had to stop selling tickets(again!!)! We changed Display as there was an issue with the 2022 and we had great feedback this time around! It was amazing to see so much support and excitement for this event once more.
We also provided every student with a Coronation Coin, Easter Egg and Christmas selection box during the year. An Ice Cream Van comes to the school during the last week of term also to give everyonea final treat! We had planned to take part in the School Coronation Picnic with a Pimms Bar but the weather had other ideas!
Planned Upcoming Events

Prep Disco 21 May 2024

Family Fun Festival 21° September 2024

Projects to Fund
We are continuing discussions with Mrs. Wright and Mr. Capuano regarding projects that could be funded (or partly funded) by the PTA.
Current Bank Balances
We currently hold funds of £34,300 with a significant sum due from School Invoice Donations. We await this figure to be confirmed.
Parentkind
Our PTA remains a member of Parentkind. We pay an annual subscription to this organisation that links up school PTAs and provides guidance and information which helps with planning events, fund raising ideas and also provides us with insurance cover for our events.
Further information can be found at: https://www.parentkind.org.uk/
Special Acknowledgements
We would once again like to say big thank you to Liz & Brian Hedges for managing the secondhand uniform sales, this is an excellent example of ‘reuse’ and provides parents and the PTA with a great service - it is also a significant fund raiser.
Thank you too to the PTA Team for efforts throughout the year running Gift Sales, Tuck Shops and so on.
Deborah Andrea, Chair of Sherrardswood School PTA
