Section D Achievements and erformance p

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

Moving tutoring to an online platform during the pandemic to provide much needed supplementary support to our current cohort of children. Extending the number of tutors and the hours of tutoring being provided to be able to help more of our local community children to catch up on precious learning time lost to the on-going pandemic.

Providing homework club services every week to refugees from Afghanistan (displaced due to the current political situation). This has allowed us to deliver educational support to children who are new to the country, unfamiliar with the English language and the educational system.

Without this assistance, the refugee children were more likely to fall even further behind, lose interest and be distracted into external negatives. Additionally, during the pandemic trustees applied for emergency funding grants which were used to produce over 500 fresh hot meals weekly. Meals were distributed to international students (who had no recourse to public funds), the homeless and other local vulnerable groups.
