The Rotary Clubs of Telford and District Trust Fund Registered charity no. 1109036

Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2025

The Trustees are pleased to present their Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2025.

The Trust has no permanent premises. Correspondence should be addressed to the treasurer Jim Tranter, at 73, Wrekin Road, Wellington, Telford, TF1 1RL.

The trust was established by Declaration of Trust dated 1[st] September 2004. Trustees are nominated by each of four Rotary Clubs (the Rotary Clubs of Ironbridge, Telford Centre, Wellington and The Wrekin), serve for a four year term, and may be reappointed.

It is the practice of the Trust to distribute substantially the whole of the restricted funds raised in each financial year as soon as practicable. Material reserves are therefore not carried.

The purposes of the charity as set out in the Trust Deed are to apply the capital and income of the trust fund for such purposes as the trustees shall from time to time direct. Funds are applied to causes nominated by the four Rotary Clubs and the public benefit will be apparent from the list shown in the financial statements.

The principal activity during the year has, as in previous years, been the promotion of a Tree of Light in Telford Centre. This was again very successful and led to £40,000 being raised for five deserving local causes – the Severn Hospice, Hope House, the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Dementia Appeal, the Bridge School and the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. The Tree of Light has continued in 2025/2026. The fund has also provided a vehicle for charitable activities proposed and funded by local Rotary Clubs.

The Trust has no employees and all decisions are taken by the Trustees. The Trust’s achievements in the financial year are set out in the receipts and payments account.

The Trustees who served during the year ended 30 June 2025, and to the date of this report, were:

Paul William Booth (to 14 August 2025) Christopher Broad Marjorie Florence Johnson Daniel Scollard-Kerr Christopher John Mackrell (to 14 August 2025) Francis Martin Curry Peter George Seaward Jim Tranter Arthur Raymond Hoof (to 14 August 2025) Wendy Mary Waterson (from 18 August 2025) Maxwell Clowes (from 14 August 2025) Gillian Mary Eatough (from 14 August 2025)
