|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|In 2023, the Trust ‘s focus was fundraising to<br>ensure all running costs could be met along<br>with the acquisition of new exhibits.<br>After the COVID restrictions ended the number<br>of open days and exhibitions the trust has<br>organised has increased again.<br>To maintain regular contact with the Rootes<br>community the Trust continued production of<br>their newsletter called “Rootes Gazette” which<br>is published as an e-book on a bi-monthly<br>basis. This has continued to be well received<br>and is proving very popular.<br>During the year the Trust continued to supply<br>technical drawings and Heritage certificates to<br>Rootes’s car owners, and the number of<br>requests has increased.<br>The Trust has now had over 250,000 of the<br>engineering drawings contained on aperture<br>cards professionally scanned. This means<br>easier accessibility to the drawings but also the<br>ability to safely store copies of them off site<br>thereby eliminating any risk of loss. This work<br>was funded by donations.<br>The trustees have agreed to reserve (ringfence)<br>8 years of Archive  Centre running costs (£48k)<br>within the accounts to ensure the sustainability<br>of the Archive should there be any issues with<br>fundraising in the future thereby allowing time<br>for an action plan to be created to preserve the<br>assets and find a new location.|
