|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|In 2020, the Trust continued maintained its<br>strong focus on fundraising to pay off the loans<br>on the new Archive Building and the target of<br>£185,605 – this was their key objective to ensure<br>the repayment plan was achieved.<br>Due to COVID restrictions the Archive could not<br>be opened to the public throughout 2020 nor<br>could it attend any of the regular public shows<br>for fundraising activities as these were also<br>cancelled.<br>To maintain regular contact with the Rootes<br>community the Trust produced a newsletter<br>called “Rootes Gazette” which is published as an<br>e-book on a bi-monthly basis. This has been well<br>received.<br>Recognising the isolation some people were<br>experiencing during lockdown and to support<br>old Rootes employees and older enthusiasts the<br>circulation was increased to include these non-<br>members.<br>This action was warmly welcomed and has<br>resulted in a high level of engagement from this<br>group<br>During the year the Trust continued to supply<br>technical drawings and Heritage certificates to<br>Rootes car owners, and the number of requests<br>was increased.<br>At the end of 2020 the Trust fundraising activity<br>had resulted in the Trust being able to repay<br>another £32,095 of the original loans.<br>The Trust have until the middle of 2022 to repay<br>them so repayment is in line with the planned<br>repayment schedule.|

I report in respect of my examination of the Trusl's accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
