ARMA w8s establfshed in 1972 under the name of the Brlllsh League Against Rheumalism. It frst
registered as a chority on 22 Aprfl 1986. ARMA incorporated on 2 March 2005 and the Annual G8neral
Meeting of ARMA on 25 May 2005 resolved lo wind-up the unincorporated charity. ARMA reregistered
wlth the Charity Commission on 5 Apitl 2005.
ARMA is govemed by the rules and regulatlons ¥el (lown In Its company Memorandum and Artktes of
Associalton dated 1 A￿￿$t 2005.

Appolntmont and Election
Trustees are elected for a period of three years and may stand for a second of three years. If
selected by the Board to be its Chalr. a trustee's tem of office can be extended by a furtharthree years.
The appointment of a Trustee may b6 éxtend￿ by a unanimous d8GBion of the Board to ensure
adequate Board continuity and trustee rotslion. Thg extenshM of tho tfj￿ of offKe for a Trustee would
ncmally be limlted to a single extension of up to one year.

thi$ risk. The Boord has undertaken work on increasing cybersecurity dudng 2022, whi(* will continue

In 2022 our focus ha8 been on delivering work to improve MSK seryices, in line wth members,
prtorflles. The priorities set by our members were Improvtng seNlces for people with MSK condlUon8
through the Best MSK Health wogramme and tackling health inequalities. NHS England and
Improvement's MSK Improvem￿1 programme. Best MSK Heath, has rtow ended havlng created a
numberof rasourcas Indicating whal local system8 need to do to wovlde excellent MSK services. We
now move from ensuring thgS8 rnsources refiecl our polldes to ensurfng they are Smplemented locally.
The pandemlc has continued to impaci ¢Jur members and people wth MSK conditions. ReducirvJ the
baGklog of NHS treatsnenl remalns a chalbnge. PaoF46 who are Immunosuppressed conllnue to be
more impacted by COVID-19 than olheTS afthough communty treatments are now available. We have
cOn￿nUed to support our patient member organ18ation8 to respond to the needs of their members by
keeping thèm updated on national policy in relauon lo COVID va¢xlnatlorts and treatrngnts, and
relaying thetr M￿tserS. experfences to NHS England and D8partment of Health.
