The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Charity Commission guidance. Objectives and activities The objectives of the charity are sel out in the charity s trust deed and are summarised as follows= Our objective is to provide sound and basic Islamic education, with a balanced. structured. and enjoyable syllabus. We want the children to have knowledge of the essential teaching and practices of Islam, with emphasis on respect for the individual, the environment, and the greater community, and.. To develop confidence and identity in being a British Muslim. To instil qualitieslbehaviour expected in a culturally rich, diverse community- To take pride in our local community & raise funds for local causes. Our vision Our vision is to create a fun and safe environment that engages every child and supports them to thrive as young and vibrant British Muslims. Area of Benefit: Slough and surrounding areas. Area of operatlon: Slough and surrounding areas. Summary of the charitable activities carried out during the year: Our weekend school is for pupils from the age of 6 to 14 years with a comprehensive, age focused curriculum, providing children an insight into traditional Islamic knowledge in a professional and structured manner. The weekend school runs on Saturday mornings from 10.00-12.30, with 10 classes running during the reporting period. We hire Ditton Park Academy, Slough to deliver our activities. Our activities are split into 3 areas: Weekl lessons.. Islamic Studies middle ground. essential teachings & practices of Islam, with emphasis on moderationl

Page 3 Seerah - covering life of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him} and other Prophets including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus (Peace Be Upon Them). Islamic personalities & their teachings. Learning of the Quran and Arabic and memorisation of short sections Isurahs) from the Quran, daily Islamic prayer etc. Mannersl Ethics for younger children. Life, social skills, contemporary religious issues for older children. We use highly regarded Safar Publication syllabus which has been carefully chosen to ensure it is informative, creative, and interesting to facilitate children's interaction. Funl enrichmenl activities-. Children enjoyed the following quarterly funl enrichment activities during the year.. Calligraphy. Escape room. Duff workshop. Arts & crafts. ecial events= Special events were held during the year for the benefit of our students, their families and the wider community. The following events were held in the reporting period.. Apr 2023.. Eid al-filr party organised for the SWIS students and their families after blessed month of Ramadan. Jun 2023.. 3 annual summer family fun day was organised for the community which was attended by over 1,000 people. Jul 2023= End of year trips were organised for the children, wilh younger children going to Jump-Giant and older children to Go Ape. Oct 2023.. Community Malwid celebrating life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) organised for the SWIS sludenls and their families, 2023= Nov 2023.. Charity collection was organised for the children of Gaza with significant participation and generous donations from the local Slough community. Structure, governance, and management The charity is an unincorporated charity and was registered with the Chartties Commission on the 24 March 2005. Trustees are responsible of setting strategies and policies for ensuring these are implemented. Risk management The charity's trustees have considered Ihe major risks to which the charity is exposed and have reviewed potential risks, and systems and procedures have been put in place to manage the risks and to mitigate any adverse outcomes.

Page 4 Serious incident No serious incident took place during Ihe period of this return that needed reporting lo the Charities Commission. Financial review The nel surplus of the charity is set out on page 7 and the trustees consider that the accumulated funds Co￿bIned with future funds would be sufficient to enable the Gharity lo meet its objectives. Plans for the future periods Future plans of the charity are to continue promoting the Muslim faith lo the younger generation by increasing activities which Interest more than the traditional services offered by other inslilutions. We plan to add additional classes and activities due to an overwhelming demand from parents. Page 5 SLOUGH WEEKEND ISLAMIC SCHOOL INDEPENDEDNT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECDMBER 2023 I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023 which are set out on pages 7 to 9. RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144{21 of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to.. examine the accounts under section 145 ofthe 2011 Act. to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5llb} of the 2011 Act., and to stale whether particular matters have come to my attention. BASIS OF INDEPENDEDNT EXAMINER'S REPORT My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of Ihe accoLtnting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as lo whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view,, and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. INDEPENDEDNT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention.. {1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements.. to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act., and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements ofthe 2011 Act have not been met= or {21 to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accou bere ched. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to.. Select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently, Observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP. Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent. State whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, Subject lo any malerial departures disclosed and explained in the financial statement, and prepare Ihe financial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will conlinue in operation. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with The Charity 1993 and the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008.They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of Ihe charily and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

ACCOUNTING POLICIES a} Basis of preparation The accounts have been prepared under the cash basis of accounting, and in accordance with applicable accounting standards. b) Fund accounting Majority of the income are fees received from parents. Income is accounted for on receipts basis. General funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity and which have not been designated for other purpos8S. c} Payments All expenditure is accounted for on cash basis and has been classified under headings that aggregates all costs relaled to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings, they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with use of the resources. d) Depreciation Although, the charity did not have any assets in the reporting period, depreciation is calculated so as to write off the cost of an assel, less its estimated residual value. over the useful economic life of that asset as follows= Equipment, Fixtures & Fittings- 25% reducing balance. e} Staff costs The charity does not employ any staff. Services are delivered mostly by volunteers and a couple of consultants. No remuneralion was paid to trustees in the year, nor were any trustee's expenses reimbursed.
