Objects
The relief of financial hardship, either generally or individually, of people living in the third world either generally or individually through the provision of grants, goods or services in particular through education.
The relief of financial need and suffering among victims of natural or other kinds of disaster in the form of money (or other means deemed suitable) for persons, bodies, organisations and/or countries affected.
Review of 2024
Income
There were two local fundraising events: the Emilie’s Trousers ride which raised £12.9K after Gift Aid and Emilie’s Picnic which raised £3.3K after Gift Aid and costs; Personal donations contributed £17K after Gift Aid. Income was also received via a football sweep (£834); fund raising from St Catherine’s College Oxford (Catz) (£1.45K); and interest (£2.42K). A full breakdown is given in the document attached.
Sponsorship of Beneficiaries
Sponsorship of beneficiaries was £17.7K. Over forty students have now graduated after sponsorship from Emilie’s Charities; twenty-four are at various stages of ongoing courses. A summary of the current projects worldwide is attached
Money raising events in 2025
The main local money raising event planned in 2025 is The Emilie’s Trousers ride, which is scheduled for February.
Trustees
Robert Harris was re-appointed as trustee for the next four years Judy Harris and Martin Harris are due to be reappointed for periods of four years and five years respectively in 2025. Karen Murray is due for reappointment in 2026
Policy on Reserves
Residual money is in a bank account to earn interest until required for projects

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Emilie's Charities (Charity number 1108537)
I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 Dec 2024.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:

e examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; e to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
-
e to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
- ¢ to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and e to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act
