**Objects:** FOR THE BENEFIT OF AFRICANS IN BRITAIN AND AFRICA, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF:(I)  ADVANCING EDUCATION AND TRAINING (II)  CONTRIBUTING TO THE REDUCTION OF POVERTY(III)  PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR CULTURAL EXPRESSION, RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION, IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE, SO THAT THEIR CONDITION OF LIFE MAY BE IMPROVED.

**Activities:** OYA runs a cluster of projects for African youngsters and their families on a council estate: a supplementary school (English, Maths, Science) for 11-16 years olds, a culture programme (African choir, dance, drama), a trainee scheme  (paid Saturday jobs and training in youth work and administration) for 16-18 year olds, and a Family Programme including advice, advocacy and volunteering.
