## **Stickney Village & Youth Centre AGM 2021**

## **Chairman's Report**

This year started extremely slowly due to the effects of the country lock down because of the covid pandemic and all events in the halls were cancelled. There was no income from the Friday nights bingos for the entire year and all the East Coast Bird Auctions were all cancelled The Slimming World weekly meetings were also cancelled and have since moved to another venue all of these are usually good earners for the community centre. All general lettings were non existing and the Model Railway reluctantly cancelled their September Show. Towards the end of July things were looking more hopeful after the introduction of hand sanitizers and social distancing measures were observed in the halls, some of the activity’s decided to start again. Badminton practice and Move-it Lose- it keep fit and indoor bowls gradually returned. The dog training resumed in September and things were gradually returning to normal until the announcement of another lockdown for all of November. Just a few activities happened in early December but at the beginning of 2021 no one used the halls for several months. And no AGM took place.

The GOOD news however is we did manage to get the car park resurfaced and paid for and thanks to the ELDC grants of £42,000 we were also able to have the Village Hall kitchen roof recovered with a fibre glass surface and the main hall is to be redecorated very soon

The Post Office van has continued to use the car park twice a week and will do so for the foreseeable future. As it was not practical to have an AGM again could I suggest and asked all the Trustees and committee representatives if they would continue in their rolls until, hopefully in the future the situation will return to normal. The accounts for the year have been prepared and audited and a copy emailed to every Trustee for their comments and approval and permission for me to sign them. And once again a big thank you to everybody who has helped in every way during this strange year to keep the Community Centres running.

Martin Gosling.
