Charitable Objects
The trustees shall apply the income and such parts of the capital of the charity as they
think f it {whether through donations to other charities or by any other charitable way) for
or towards the relief of those children in the Indian Sub-continent or in the United
Kingdom in financial need. hardship or distress, the reliet of those who are sick and the
preservation and protection of the health of such children. and the 8dvancement of their
education by such charitsble means as the trustees determine from time to time, in
particular bythe provision of housingor other accommodation, education and materials
or facilities and the provision or payment for such items. services and facilities to ease
their suffering or assist in their recovery orto improve their welfare.
The trustees are responsible for preparingthe annual report and the financial statements
in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting
Practice.
Law 8pplic8ble to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare
financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of charity's
financial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of th8 year. In
preparing financial statements giving a true and fail view, the trustees are required to:

statements comply with the Charities Act 1993. They are also rèsponsible for
safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonabLe steps for the
prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. The trustees recommend that

1. Accounting policies
Th8 principal accounting policies are summarised below. The accounting policies have
been 8pplied consistently throughout the year and the precedingyear.
1.1. Basis of accountlng
The financial statements have been prepared in accordanc8 With the accounting policies
set out in the notes to the accounts and complywith the charity's governing document
and Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice for
Charities preparing th8ir accounts in accordance with Financial Reporting standard 102
applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland published on 16 July 2014.
1.2. Incoming resources
All incoming resources are includ&d in the statement of financial activities when the
charity is entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable
accuracsi Th6 following spacific policies are applied to particular categories of incoms:
Income from investments is included in the year in which it is receivable.
1.3. Resources expended
Expenditure is recognised on an 8ccrual basis as a liability is incurréd. Expenditure
includes any VAT which cannot be fully recovered and is reported a8 part of the
expenditure to which it relates.
Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery ot
its activities and seNices for its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated
directly to such activities and those costs of an indirect natur8 necessary to 8UPPOrt
them.
Support costs 8re those costs incurred directly in support of expenditure on tha objects
ofthe charityand incLude project management.
1.4. Investments
Investments held as fixed assets are revalued at mid-market Value at the ba18nce sheet
date and the gain or loss taken to the statement of financial activities.
