**Objects:** 4.1 TO FURTHER OR BENEFIT THE RESIDENTS OF ASHTON IN MAKERFIELD AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID RESIDENTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS.4.2 TO ENHANCE THE DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN PRIMARILY UNDER STATUTORY SCHOOL AGE BY ENCOURAGING PARENTS TO UNDERSTAND AND PROVIDE FOR THE NEEDS OF THEIR CHILDREN BY OFFERING APPROPRIATE PLAY, EDUCATION, CARE FACILITIES AND DEVELOPMENT COURSES, TOGETHER WITH PROMOTING PARENTS TO BECOME INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY GROUPS, ENSURING THAT SUCH GROUPS OFFER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL CHILDREN, WHATEVER THEIR RACE, CULTURE, RELIGION, MEANS OR ABILITY. ENCOURAGING THE STUDY OF THE NEEDS OF SUCH CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WHILE PROMOTING THE PUBLIC INTEREST IN AND RECOGNITION OF SUCH NEEDS. 4.3 TO RELIEVE POVERTY, PARTICULARLY AMONGST THOSE WHO ARE HOMELESS AND WHO MAY HAVE; HEALTH ISSUES OR, EXPERIENCED DOMESTIC ABUSE, BY THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT AND, SUCH OTHER SERVICES AS MAY BE APPROPRIATE.
