## **Trustees’ Annual Report** for the year ended 31st December 2025 ## **Aims & Objectives** The charity’s aim is to give support to anyone affected by cancer (patients or carer) through the provision of short, residential breaks which include counselling, support and advice and which are free of charge to all-comers. Under exceptional circumstances,support may be provided on a one-to-one basis and/or online. Our principal objective is to have in place on 1st January each year the funding required to deliver that year’s Time To Retune breaks. Our fundraising activities are therefore focussed on delivering the funding for the following year. ## **Review of the Year** 2025 was a year of significant change for the charity. Having lost our administrator of ten-plus years in November 2024, we took the opportunity to review all our systems and procedures, updating and streamlining them before appointingThe Indispensary virtual assistance company to run our breaks and to support the Board of Trustees.. We also completed our extensive search for an additional venue for delivering our breaks and agreed a contract with Harcombe House in Chudleigh. In total, we ran three breaks: at Cadhay Manor in March and June; and at Harcombe House in November.All were very successful and the feedback from attendees was very positive. We had some major fundraising successes during the year. The March break was fully funded by an individual donor. Our first Family Fun Day in the grounds of Ugbrooke House raised £5K. Our grant application to the Albert Hunt Trust was successful in raising a further £5K. In total, we raised over £28, allowing us to schedule three breaks for 2026. We were also successful in our bid for entry to the Co-operative Community Fund, with a potential income of £6K. However, this will not be payable until the end of 2026 and will therefore go towards our 2027 funding. ## **Public Benefit** The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit when planning and carrying out the charity’s activities. The trustees believe the charity provides public benefit by offering services that improve mental wellbeing and reduce isolation. Our breaks are open to all members of the community and are offered free of charge, thus making them accessible to all. ## **Structure & Governance** As of March 2026, the charity became a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation. However throughout the duration of these accounts (January to December 2025) it was a Charitable Limited Company, controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, limited by guarantee, as defined by the Companies Act 2006. In the event of its being wound up, its members (who are also the Trustees) would have been required to contribute an amount not exceeding £10. ## **Financial Report** The charity maintains a strategy of fundraising one year in advance. As of 1st January 2025, funding was in place to deliver three Time To Retune breaks.These were delivered as described above. Our fundraising during 2025 ensured that on 1st January 2026, funding was in place for that year’s deliverables. ## **Reserves Policy** The charity maintains a reserve of £5K, this being the approximate level of direct costs required to deliver one break.
