Respective responslbllltles The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The

examlner's statement Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records
kept by the charity and 8 comparison of the accounts presented with those records.
It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts,
and seeking explanations from the trustees conceming any such matters. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required In an
audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a
'true and fairf view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement
below.

The objectives of the organisation are to further such charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of Birmingham and the surrounding area as the Executive Committee see fit from time to time, in particular but not exclusively by: 

- Developing their capacity and skills in such a way that they are better able to identify and help meet their needs and to participate more fully in society. 

- Providing or assisting in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth,

   - age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life. 

- Preserving and protecting their health by encouraging participation in healthy recreation and providing facilities for the playing of rugby and other sports.

Moseley RCF is the charitable foundation arm of Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club, originally established in 2004 to work with local schools to improve and protect the health of children in and around the Inner-City area of Birmingham.

Section D                      Achievements and performance 

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

From April 2024 to March 2025 the following activities were undertaken as a result of funding from: - 

- Selly Oak Constituency 

- St Marys Lodge 

- Brickability 

- Embark 

- The RFU 

- Sport Birmingham 

- Fundraising Events – Golf Day, BMRFC Hospitality Events, Tommo’s Walk 

A Walking Rugby Project - Goes from strength to strength.  The session runs every Thursday evening on the back pitch. From an initial 6 participants we now have 40 signed up with a core of 20 regulars. All have joined the club as social members and have doubled the takings on the bar on a Thursday evening. We have held 'fixtures' with other clubs and have advised on setting up Walking Rugby sessions at some clubs. 

Community Sports Festivals - We have run a Sports Festival at Easter and a Summer Holiday Project to introduce the community to a range of different games showcasing the club facilities, particularly the beach volleyball arena. 253 young people attended our camps this year with 20 sports being delivered. 

The Girls Development Rugby Project - Funded by The Telegraph and the RFU introducing girls to T1 Touch rugby 

The Bags of Character Project - Is an investment by the Foundation in equipment and training to enable us to enhance the Foundation's offer to schools and for the Club to use for corporate days at the club for our sponsors and companies in general. The project enables training in team building, development of resourcefulness and resilience, leadership and problem solving. 

Rugby United Project – Funded by the RFU to encourage youngsters from the BAME community to take up rugby. Delivered in schools by our community coaches.  We have taken rugby into boxing and MMA gyms and worked in collaboration with Murabiyoon Sports to take rugby into Islamic schools. 

Schools Project – So far this year we have worked with 41 schools and 5,322 pupils as part of the following initiatives: 

- Established new T1 rugby school leagues for year 7 boys, Y7-9 girls and Y5-6 mixed at 16 schools in total.  More schools have applied to join next year. 

- Delivered staff CPD sessions in 5 local schools to increase confidence in teaching rugby. 

- Delivered rugby leaders programme in several schools. 

- Hosted festivals in summer term for 10 schools working with local Schools Games Officers. 

- Hosted a girls schools league final with 70+ girls and 150+ parents and staff attending. 

- Attended PE Leads meetings with local schools to keep up to date with schools plans and funding 

- Ran a work experience programme hosting 20 students from local secondary schools for work experience doing maintenance work at the club.

## Section D                      Achievements and performance 

As a result of all the schools work that we have successfully undertaken we have: 

- Embedded rugby in the curriculum of 8 secondary schools 

- Increased participation in sports – 45 players from the local schools have joined our mini and junior section.  12 schools attended Birmingham Moseley home games. 

- Been selected by RFU to deliver as one of their National School Rugby Manager roles. 

Professional Development Projects we have – 

- Attended quarterly meetings with community departments from other Championship and National 1 clubs. 

- Delivered mentoring and coaching advice to Moseley M&J coaches to improve standards. 

- Developed an age appropriate training structure for assessing our young players and giving structure for the coaches.  Coaches at U13U16 to provide to provide ratings on platers so that promising players can be identified.
