Plans for the future
To continue to recruit new Directors.
To explore ways to increase local community use.
To recruit two more Apprentices.
Continue to raise f und5 for a dedicated Tubing slope and Via Ferrata.
Chairman'5 note
The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed that we have a new logo. We wlll gradually Integrate this into our livery
and uniforms, but It Is recelvlng a posltive response. This wasn't our only investrnent a5 we finally repaired the roof of
the Air Raid Shelter to provide much needed secure and dry storage for equipment. We also took on another apprentice
in January but had been hoplng for up to 3; we will continue to integrate new apprentices going forward. We also added
Julie our Education Liaison Officer to the SMT, to strengthen our leadershlp team.
On the flnanclal front, while our income fell last year and our cost5 increased, we were still able to produce an
unrestrlcted fund surplus of over £12.5k. The reductlon in income was largely due to lower grants recelved, as we are
finding greater cornpetition from other organlsatlons and grant providers having less to dlstrlbute. Nevertholoss, Sue
continues to do a wonderful job by generating much needed funding, with more emphasls 8oin8 forward on grants
related to providing artivlties to Users, particularly on Speclal Educational Needs and Dlsabllity groups, actlvitles.
On the expenditure front, ou r costs remaln under pressure, notably heat and light but we are proud to be increasing our
workers pay year on year. We did benefit from a write back of an insurance provSslon but overall, our cash reserves
remain adequate for our purposes. The board is looklng at Investing In an interesting, related business and If that does
come on stream, will provide a significant uplift in income for 2025 and beyond.
The activity levels on the playinE fields and pavilion on the land fronting Golden Hillock Road have grown exponentlally
due mainly to Anwar and the Birmingham Youth Sport5 Assoclatlon. Steve has also attended meetings of Frlend5 of
Ackers Park and we will continue to explore ways of working with the local community.

Finally, can I thank the Board of Dlrectors for their support over this and many years. These volunteers continue to guide
the organi5ation and contribute greatly to the continued success of Ackers Adventure. Just after our year end, we

Auditors responsibilities for the audit of the financial statements
continued
Irregularities, including fraud, are in5tance5 of non-compliance with laws and regulation5. We design procedures in line
with our responsibilities, outlined above, to detect material mi55tatements in respect of irregularities, including fraud.
The extent to which our procedures are capable of detecting irregularities, including fraud is detailed below-
We assessed the risks for susceptibility of the company's financial statements to material misstatement, including how
fraud might occur by discussion with management and considered the procedures and controls that the company has
established to prevent and detect fraud, and how these are monitored by management.
Based on ou r understanding, we designed our audit procedures to respond to these risks and to obtain audit evidence
that is sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our opinion. and to identify any non-compliance with laws and
regulations identified in the paragraph above.
Because of the inherent limitations of an audit, there is a risk that we will not detect all irregularities, including those
leading to a material misstatement in the financial statements or non-compliance with regulations. This risk increases
the more that compliance with a law or regulation is removed from the events and transactions reflected in the financial
statements. as we will be less likely to become aware of instances of non-compliance. The risk is also greater regarding
irregularities occurring due to fraud rather than error, as fraud involves intentional concealment, forgery, collusion.
omission or misrepresentation.
A further description of ou r responsibilities for the audit of the financial statements is located on the Financial Reporting
Council's website at- www.frc.or
