Flnancial revlew
The Trust's financial performance in 2024 continued the strong perf0m￿nCe of the preV￿uS couple of years with
an operating surplus of income over expendtture. prior to charitable grants, of £24.594 compared to £24,432 in
2023. Once grant paymenls of £30.300 are tsken into account, the Trust rnade an operatsng deficit of £5,706 in
2024 compared to a deficit of £2.036 in 2023. The cumulative effect of this and previous years, perfomwnce
means that by end of 2024 the Trust had just over £10,000 still available for new grant requests, having approved
grant requests totalling r￿arlY £75,000 during 2023 and 2024.
The Trust regularty ￿vIewS its investment strategy for both its restricted and un￿Stricted funds. The Trust
continues to, where practical from cash flow consideratons, maximise the interest income on its cash holdings
whilst at the same time building a long-term investment portfolio for the sinking fund that the Trust requires to
ensure that the Trust can maintsin and mTrJernise rts physical assets in the decades to come. The Trust
expenenced an 70/0 increase in the value of it5 investment funds in 2024 (exduding ￿ldItional investments>,
compared to an 140/0 increase in 2023.
In add￿on to the restricted funds of £139.883, held in the fomi of investrnent trusts and fvnds, the Trust also

owns, as part of its endOwn￿n( a commerual nursery facilty conseniatively vall￿￿ at £600,000, and the Anso
Field, both of which acljoin Barrow Close (a private road owned by the Trust) arid the Marcham Centre that was
erected on land previously owned by the Trust. The Anson Field is leased to Marcham Parish Council until 2119
(subject to the application of the terms of the lease).
The income generated from the nursery facilty is the main source of the Trust's income and the directors have
adopted what they consider to be a suitably prudent approach to its use of this income to fund its grant makin9
opportunities in seniice of tts charitable objectives and the Trusys need to buikj the sinking fiJnd referred to
previously.
It is the policy of the charty that unrestrict&J fvnds which have not been designated for a specffic use should be
maintained at a level at least equivalent to between six and fvlelve months, anticipated expendrture. The directors
conSKler that reserves at this level will ènsure that, in the event of a sKJnificant drop in funding, they will be able
to continue the charty's current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may te
raised. This level of reserves has been maintained throughout the year.
The directors have assessed what they consider to be the major nsks to which the charity is exposed and are
satisfied thai systems and procedures are in place to mrtpate the threal that such risks pose to its operating
mcKlel.
Plans for the lulure
The directors are keen that the Trust continues to be recognised and used as a source of communty supporting
grants and will activety seek out opportunities and conts'nue to market the Trust accordingly, whilst at the same
time exercising appropriate stewardship of its assets and their relevant inixme streams for the benefit of the
Trust's charitabte objectives.
Structure• governance and managem•nt
The charty is a compary lirnite(J by guarantee which was incorporated on 11 June 2004 and does not have share
capital.
