In 2004 th¢ charity was responsibl¢ for the creation and publication of the Gillkngham Action Plan whose principal
tenets reflect A) above and trLLsiees are involved individually in several of the resultin8 iniliativcs. Progress is fornully
reviewed antsually bui also reported io the Board on a regular b¥is respect of the EnviroDDje￿, CommuDity HousiD&
and Healtb & Wellbeing. This is iti addiuon to the signifi¢aut role wid¢Trak¢n by the ¢haTity wh¢n it ¢on)pleted th¢
redevelopTnent of the Rivers Meet Centre. This facility has beert opeth to paying ¢VSLomers $i￿e Augwst 2010. The
charity operdte5 the centre via its sub$idiary. the Gillingham Community athd Leisure Trust (GCLT) Limited. which
conljDues to provide the public with facilitie5 for exerci% and actively prornotcs the benefits of a healthy lifcstylc. Over
th¢ lasi 10 years th¢ parent charity has provided financial adtniDithtive sUPPOrt for a growing Dumber of ¢otnTnuDity
a¢tiviti¢s- most active are the local yO￿h club. a dementia supix)rt group. a litter picking group aThJ a local walking

Club in 2022-23, as in 2021-22. and additional grdDts wer¢ rectived this year from Dorset Police and Rendezvous.

The GCLT accounts provide a full 5urnmary of thc activities of the charitable ￿Mpathy. Some of the hjghlights W¢T¢ the
developrnent of a partnuship with Dextra. a Ir*al I￿5]nesS that has enabltd thern ¢0 open a second site in Gillingham
ith a new gyinn&5ium and 8￿8$[1C5 facilities. Tbese are still at an early sts8e of operdtion. and are refining the
operating model, but initial signs are that th¢ new facilities are proving popular with users. They have also invested in
enerev savitt2 *cknoloev to enable th¢m to nuuoate th¢ incff&sed oDeTatiooal COSLS driven bv hith ent￿V prices.

THE METHODS ADOPTED FOR THE RECRUITMENT AND APPOINTMENT OF NEW TRUSTEES
The trustees are appointed annually in xcordanct with thc Memordnthun and Articlcs of Association.
THE ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE CHARrrY AND HOW DECISIONS ARE MADE
The board of trL]5tee5 meets regularly as a full board. A number olyoups have been formed whose purposes are to

The ￿0￿p recorded rtet expenditure (before exceptional items) of £143.439 (2022.. £56,890) for the year. In th¢ year end
30 June 2023 the leisutt centre 8tnerated £1,158,331 of Incoff￿ from user5 of the River5Meet Leisure Centre
(2022.. £1.022,691). Th¢ par¢n¢ charity continued io spend r¢s¢Tir¢¢d gwjts from previow years, and a swplus of
£4,208 {2022.. deficit of £7,199) was recorded by pat¢ni Charity. The group Ihad net &S5ets as at 30 June 2023of
£3.803,885 {2022.. £3.974.324).
PUBLIC BENEFIT
The trustees confm tha¢ they have ¢ot)wlifyJ with the duty in wion 17 of the Chariti¢s A¢t 2011 to have due regard
to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Comrnission. Specifically, the trLt5tees cotLsider that the
facilitie5 for recreation and leisure will bc available to all nKrnbcrs of the ¢onJmunity.
