Introductlon December 2024 rna￿ed the end of Living Light Christian Church Taunton (and Wellington's) (LLCC) 21st year of ministry. The church has conb.nued to grow and develop in Its objettlves, which are to worship God, nurture ￿lIeverS and evangelize the world. The church now has 3 congregations comprising of all age groups, with many families and young people and 2023 saw the increase of prayer, outreach. The church plant in Bridgwater contlnued to develop during the year after the Sunday morning meeting wa5 e5tsblished in September 2022, wlth commitment from people from the Taunton & Wellington congregations to support a IoG31 people from Bridgwater. Plans were well under way to purchase a church house in the area where the church was meeting (Hamp Academy) arKI Ben & Angela Thorne prepared to move home to help further establish the church. All three congregations continued to see slgnificant growth during this year, which has requlred changes In oversight and administration to provlde all relevant SUPFOrt. John and Icim LaIg￿, who have oversight for the Taunton and Wellington vlsited the churches and kept in close contact with the leaders. These were exating times, a5 more and more Indlvlduals and families from ethnic minority communities, contlnued to join the churches, adding great richness to the already diverse congregations. Trustees The current trustees are John La19￿ (Apostlelchaiman), Trefor Jones (elder), Bru￿ Izzett (elder), Kevin Parker, Ben Thorne (elderlSecTetary), Chris Izzett (elder) and Martin Ledger (elder). It is planned for 2025 that some trustees will retirelresign and some wlll become members instead (adjustments to be made as and when an elder goes onto the payroll). Elders & Deacons The year started with Bruce Izzett, Ben Thome and Martin Ledger are the elders/leaders in Taunton and Trefor Jones, Kevln Parker and Chrls Izzett In Wellington (Ben and Chrls we continuing the work in Bridgwater). The leadership brought sound support and clear direttion to the body in line with the Word of God and continued to receive input and suptxxt from John Lalgee in taking forward the vlsion G(xJ has given for churches and In the ccmtext of the wider church in Taunton, Wellington & Bridgwater. Ben, Bru￿, Trefor, Kevin and Chrls were paid by the church on a fvlltime and parttime basis alongside some continuing their regular jobs. The elders worked toJether to provide pastoral care to church members, bringing teaching from the Word of GCKI and overseeing prcNJrammes, such as church administratlon, outreach, Ca￿ for the needy, relations with other church leaders in eath of the towns. During this year, Taunton ap￿Inted David Ledger as a deacon and Glyn Hammond was set in as an elder for the Taunton congregation in November. Admlnlstratlon Staff Glyn Hammond continued in his role doing the accounts for LLCC churches (UK) and OCM (UK), with an increasing workload In response to more church activities. Katie Whittle continued to do the general admin for Taunton, Wellington and Bridgwater. Aaron Dunne supervlsed the management of the churth building and continued to help with the internship programme, which eventually ended in 2024. David Ledger continued to develop audio visual and media acros5 the 3 churches, and the Taunton congregation maintsined its ex￿lIent mlnlstryi Streamlng meetings Ilve on YouTube, along wlth PA in Taunton & Wellington (including meeting our dats protection requirements). Significantly, David worked hard with ongoing Music & Media projects and Sujith Sunil left hi5 music ministry in the church in November 2024 to return to Kenosha, USA. There was also a Worshlp Academy held on Monday evenings over 2024, which helFEd connect with other churches Klentified new muslclans to develop thelr muslcal skllls in the context of worshlp. Flnanclal OveThlew of2024 The thurth's Income is primarlly recelved from the majorlty members glvlng IO% (a tlthe) of thelr Income and offerings. This biblical prinaple is tsught in the church and works In practi￿ as a voluntsry contribution from those people wlth enough faith in these princlples to put them into prattl￿. In addition to this, from ts'me to time, special voluntsry offerings are made by members. Ideally the tithe is used to provide for people and offerlngs for projects - this is retlected in the accounts. Significantlyi 2024 saw the contlnued use of the Gipsy Lane church site, with sufflcient finan￿ to help the ongoing Maintenan￿ and various programmes to support a church ngregation growlng in numbers across Bridgwater & Wellington too. At the end of the 21st financial year, the church's finances remained in a strong position and Trustees remained confident in being able to meet the financial commitments and to be able to continue to be generous in giving to the needs of others inside and outsi(Je the church and across the church In Taunton and to pay the salarles of the staff. Church Offl The church Offi￿ continued to provide support on all levels to the various ministries in the thurch and provided a pla￿ for people to meet to tslk over Issues, etc. Office systems were maintsined, the church website, Fa￿t￿k and Elvanto were used throughout the year as part of developing communirAtions (and continued some alignment with admin pro￿SeS based in the Kenosha church). The systems for managing church accounting continued to be developed in 2024 and achleved the storing all dats elettronioilly to support continued church growth and save time. Therefore, professional advi￿ was sought to help maintsin and improve financial efficienry, transparency and compliance. Vlslon & Comm/tment Course The Wsion and Commitment Course (V&C) is the'way in, to thurch membership and consists of a 20-sesslon series and ran during 2024 In the three churches, along with Alpha courses and good contscts were made with people during these courses. The V&C course covers the basic foundations of church Ilfe and practi￿. Everyone who wants to become a committed member of the church goes through thls course to ensure that we all understand the principles upon whlch the Ilfe of the church is founded. Chlldren The church is blessed wlth many children of a variety of age groups, who are a credit to their familie5 and who are learning about Jesus and endeavouring to live out thelr faith. There are varied activities such as: Teaching during the Sunday m￿ting Involvement in many areas of church Ilfe The Child￿n,$ WO￿ continued to use the outside classrooms at the church bulldlng and classrooms at Court Fields School and Hamp Academy. Youth Throughout 2024 the work wlth Hres Youth (teenagers) contlnued to develop, with activities and meetings arranged throughout the year (including for the 'Young Adults? - the youth 15 generally worked jointly acr05S the 3 congregations. A major highlight of the year was the youth golng away together to a youth camp 'Lirnitless' wlth the youth leaders and heltkrs - this had a significant impatt of the young people, and they had a great tlme t()Jether. Preachlng and feachlng program Preaching and teaching continued on Sunday momings, led by Ben and supported by various speakers induding Ben, Bruce, Trefor, Kevin & Chris (in their role as Elders), Glyn Hammnd Matthew Wright, Paul Mew, Peter Fox, Pete Gibson, Alex Akhlgbemen, Kevin Parker, etc. GC￿ preaching and teachlng Is foundational to the growth of the church and has proved provoking and challenging. The teaching that is brought each week continues to be discussed regularly through the home groups, with the emphasis being on practical implementstion of what is shared. Prayer Monthly prdyer meetings have taken pla￿ Sin￿ the church started in each congregation and these have been very powerful and proved to IE slgnificant tlmes where God has moved among us and spoken to us of his intentions. Muslc & Media Internshlp Programme The music & media intemship programme ended in June 2024 and involved the intems receiving teachlng and tralnlng In a number of areas to support their activities such as sch(K)I outreaches (assemblies); making testimony videos. live streaming meetings; worship; helping the needy inside and outside the church; street outreach to share their faith; attending home groups and helplng wlth wotshlp across the 3 cnngregations. The interns stsyed with host families and were provided with a car for their travel. They continued to be an integral part of the church family and Sujith Sunil On￿ again rernained in the UK to help with the 2023124 Internship Pr(yJramme. Worshlp Teams A foundational element of the church continues to be a firm focus on the imp)rtanTr of worshlpplng God. The worship teams continued to develop under wlth a conslderable number of musicians working on a rotstion basis in all 3 congregations and 2022 saw the continuation of the Worship Academy to select and train more musicians and to work with musicians from the Bl churches. Pre-marrlage Tralnlng/weddlng This continues as and when needed. Town Wlde Events The emphasis on town wide events and devdoping the church's relationship with other churches In the area, malnly through the Bl connectlons, where church leaders meet weekly for breakfast - this continued to be helpful a5 new local church leaders came to Taunton. There were Jolnt meetings and the debut of 'A Gospel Christmas, In DecemlEr at the Wellsprings leisure ￿ntre, which was enormously successful, was sold out and was a great ststement of church unity in Taunton Evanqe/lsm The church contlnued to look for ways to fulfil the call of God to 'Evangelise the World, through various activities and outreach, induding sharing faith on the streets and working into local school assemblies. Hospltallty The churth continues to demonstrate hospitslty, with many in the church gifted in this area. A'family, environment is estsblished for visitors to be welcomed and cared for and when someone is in n&d (e.g. at the birth of a baby, or if there is sickness), then meals are provided and organised by the leaders and home gr￿ps. Pmphetlc Words We have continued to receive a regular flow of prophetic words in the church, which express Gi￿￿,S intention to increase our effectiveness and fruitFulnes5 in reachlng the community with the gospel. The churches continued to pray and work through prophetic words to determine how the two congregations should move forward In the will of God. Church weekendaway- OCM Conference 2024 This year s Conferen￿ was agaln held in Cefn Lea in mid-wales and took Pla￿ on 3-8 April 2024 and was hugely successful with over 300 attending. The￿ was teaching from the apostolic team and plenty of leisure time tr￿ether, wlth particular focus on the children and youth. Brldgwater Convention at Canalside In Bridgwater for all the Bridgwatsr churches, with well know guest speakers. The Besom Trust (furnlture delivery to needy families; food for the f￿d bank; monthly contribution to the storage warehouse; projects to help people In their homes) Weekly men's breakfasts in Taunton and various outreach events, such as bowling and an Asian Banquet. A variety of women's events and outreath, such as wreath making at Christmas. Alpha course in Welllngton, along with participation In the Street Falr and Howard Road outreach ROC (churche5 and local community group and authorities working together to affect the local area) Best Before Food Store In Welllngton run by the LLCC Wellington congregation. Connectlons with the churches and church leaders in Wellington and Bridgwater. Conduslon The church has been bullt on clear biblical principles. The growth of the church will continue as strong foundations are constantly bullt into the lives of those God adds to the church. We will continue to respond actively to all that God says to us through prophecy, teaching of the Word and the strutture of Godly leadership that operates in the church.
