REVIEW OF AcrivmES AND ACHIEVEMENTS:
Throughout the year the Trustees have fulfilled the charitvs objectives
by organising fundraising events.. Because of the Covid-10 pandemic,
all fundraising has been done online, including a virtual summer garden
party, a virtual Halloween story-telling event with raffle, a virtual
Christmas Fair and an Easter 2021 raffle. The annual charity dinner due
to take place in November 2020 was cancelled. as were presentations
to local organisations about the chariWs work.
The trustees have maintained close links with Girlguiding Newcastle.
The charity has continued to receive donations of clothing, books and
stationery and these were shipped to Ghana in September 2020.
The chariws Education Project got underway in June 2020 while the
children at King Jesus Charity Home were studying from home, the
schools being closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The
educational supervisor has attended regularly. The project is
progressing very well and has been of enormous benefit to the
children's education. Laptops. music keyboards and training shoes as
well as calculators, maths sets and dictionaries were purchased.
The charity continues to have a large number of supporters who
donate on a regular basis and many have sent extra donations
throughout the year to compensate for the charity being unable to
hold its usual fundraising events.
