Spalding Hospice Foundation Annual Trustee’s Report 2024
We were founded in 2002 with a dream of establishing hospice care in the South Holland District. Initially we did not know where this would be located but when our new local hospital was being planned we were able to secure a four bedded Ward in the new Johnson Community Hospital.
We opened in 2010 and to this day continue our mission of proving 'local, loving care' in the heart of our community.
Many of the Committee are still the same as 23 years ago and our passion to support the Tulip Suite remains intact.
2024 has been another good year for our fundraising and we have received several generous donations to our cause.
We spent some of our funds on installing a drinks station and small fridge in the family sitting room so hot drinks can be made. Visitors can spend time on a comfy sofa with new magazines and books to browse and relax over at this difficult time.
New blinds were fitted and some of the 2010 original decor changed for a more modern look. A two seater dining table was also purchased so paperwork and forms can be completed more satisfactorily than on your knee.
The rooms continue to be well used and offer local people a homely, caring and loving facility for their
final days and also respite care and support is available.
