Activibes 2nd Achievements
Alton Community Playschool believes that its overall objxtives w¢re a¢biev¢d dwing the year. Due to the ODgoing
financial crisis, fimdraising remains difficult Yet we have developed a page on JustGiviD& fon by the committee of
directors and trustees. In this way, we aim to rdise additionaI funds to achieve the appropriate level of funding to reduce the
deficiL Much of the deficit that we bold is due to an in￿eased number of cbildren with Spccial Educationa] Needs and
Disabilities wbo need aD enhanced ratio. Th¢refor4 the number of staff we employ rema3ns bigher. as the safety and well-
being of th¢ children are paramount in our setting. As an immediate measure to firther reduce the deficiL the Nominated
Person has received appropriate training to support and appty for additionat funding for children with special needs,
securin£ the financing for them without the need to employ another professional. As part of the Curiosity Approach
Pedagogy, we use naturaI reSoUr￿S to help cbildren become more independent and use their imagination rather than toys
meant for one purpose (e.8. a toilet roll could be many things T3ther than a plastic w toy). A5 part of the Curiosity
Approach projccL we also have books for all children to borrow. We are part of two projects, Spatt to Flourish and the One
Proje¢L and have paid for our stsff members to atten& The nurs￿￿5 Inch￿]0￿ for All project continues tr) be very popular.

resources within it Ère maintained to a high Standar￿ This will cojrtinue to bc at the heart of ourpractice.

The pl¥yschool continues to mairfttiin a high attendante rate among chlldren. This sustsined dernat￿ refiects our ongoing
engagement with the local community and the high-quality services and pmvision we deliver. Since introducintr Open Days
during the surnrner 8nd strengthening our partoersbips with community organisations, we have been better able to identify
children who may require additional health support and to guide f2mllies on how to acce55 appTOPTiate services. This
collaborative approach has also enabled us to promote thc importance of good OTal hygiene (a part of our CU￿]culum)
among young children. We have received donations to supp)rt both the setting and parents in addressin8 ongoing
challenges in their daily health and well-being.
The Centre continues to offer Se￿lOnal care alongside other sessious parents may require when Nvorking or sbJdyin& The
sessional sessions are still very popuIar amongst the other se5sion5.

Altou Community Playschool offers fifteen hours of funded early education each week in line with Wand5WOrtb pmvision
for a113- and 4year-olds, as well as fifteen hows ea¢h week for cligible disadvantaged ttTryear-olts and for twfryear-olds
of working Pa￿nts who meet WaDdsWOrth and IIKfRC critsri& These sessions remain very popular. with most patents
opting for five three-hour sessions per week during terEn time.

Statement of CoMpr￿n
The financial statements have been prepared in accordan￿ wtth Accounting and Reporting by
Charities: Stdtement of Recommended practi￿ applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordan￿ with Financial Report Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102).
They also comply with the Companies Art and Charities Act 2011.
8asls of Preparation
The playschool meets the definition of a public entity under FRSIO2.
Going Concern.
The trustees consider that there are no material unortainties a￿ut the charitrfs ability to continue
as a goingc0n￿rn.
Income resources and resources expended
All income is recognised On￿ the charity has entitlement to the Income.
All expenditure is recogni5ed On￿ there Is a legal or constructive obligation to that expenditure.
Support Costs
Support costs indude central functions and have been allocated to activity cost categories on a basls
cost wlth the use of resources.
These include costs attributable to the tharws compliance with constitutional and statutory
requirements including Independent Examinerfs fees and accountsncy services.
Flxed Assets and Depreciatlon
Tangtble fixed assets are stated at cost less depreaation.
Equipment costing over £5IXI is capitalised and depreciation is charged at rates estimated to write
off the cost of the assets over their estimated lives on a reducing balan￿ basis of 25% per annum
Computer equipment. Depreciation is charged at the rate of 25% of cost per annum.
Sensory Room. Depreciation ts charged at the rate of 25% of cost per annum.
Building Costs relate to Fire and Safety Regulation5. Depreaation is charged at the rats of 25% of
cost per annum.
