Alton Community Playschool was established in 1985. Alton functions as an indq)endent entity.
Legal Status
Alton Cornmurrity Playsch(x)l is an ethicational charity and a company limited by guarantee. incorporated on 7 April 2004.
The COm￿Y was established under a Memorandum of Associatio￿ which established the obJ￿ts and powers of the
charitable company and is govern￿ by its Articles of AssociatioL If the cotDpany is close(L mcmbers are required to
contribut¢ an amount not excealing £1.
Recrnitment and Appointment of Directors
The Management Committee are also a charity trustee for the purEx)ses of charity law. People interested in b￿ornIng a

member of the Managemfflt Committtt are nominad and ￿0nded at the Annual General Meeting. after which a
memba3hip ballot is presenL
Most new Directors are familiar with the work of the charity. However, new trustees are encourdged to attend an induction
scssion to familiaTiZ¢ th¢ms¢lv¢s with the role of the Management Committee. The Chair of the Management Committee
and th¢ Nomin*￿ Person jointly leads these. The sessions cover the obligations of Management Committee members. the
content of the Memorankn and Articles of A5￿ciatIon and th¢ Strategic Plan of the AS￿)cIatiO
Training is available to Managanent Committee member4 including employment and Safeguardi￿ issues such as
Disciplinary & Grievance Procedures. Managing Absence. Leadffship trnining. and financi￿ management.

Risk Policy
Internal risks are Mini￿ by implementing procethwes for authorithon of all tTrnsactions and projects and ¢nsuring
consistent delivery for all ope￿10nal aspects of the cl)aritable cOm￿Y. These Procedures are periodically reviewed to
ensure that they still meet the neth of the charity.
Organizational Strneture
Alton Community Playschool has a Managcment Con]mittee in place, and day-to-day responsibility for the provision of
services rests with the Nominated Person.
The Managers are responsil)le for ensuring that the charity delivers the services specified and that key perfornxance
indicators are met and are responsi￿le for thc supervision and line management of the respective childcare teams in the

Objettives of the knoclatlon
The primary aims of the associatio￿ as defin￿ in its Memorandum and Articles of Ass(Klatio￿ are provide the
nec￿ faciliti&8 for the daily Lwe, recreation and education of children up to and including the age of five years
primarily from and in the LA)ndon Borough of WandSWor￿ to advance the education and training for persons in the
pmvisions of such &ve, education and recreation facilities."
Finaneial Controls
ACP operates full internal financial controls in accordance with the guidelines outlined by the Charity Commissioners in
March 1996 in their publication -Internal Financial Controls for Charitias" (Publication CC8)

ACP has no special inveslment powers, and no restrictions apply except those contsined within the Tnth thvestment Act
1961.
ActivitKg and Achievements
Alton Community Playschool believ￿ our overall objectives We￿ achievcd (Iwing the y¢ar. Duc to cov￿ -19. this has
been a challenging year for fundraising activities. The children have enjoyed outings to the library and local community.
Walking around the community to find numbers on signs and markings also proved enjoyable, with the children taking
photographs and making di4)lays to shar¢ with parents.
Sessional Care
The Centre continues to offer se&sional care. This is still very popular.
Fifteen-Hour Care and Education
Alton offers fifteen hours each week in line with Wandsworth funding for all 3- & 4-year-olds and fifteen hours each week
for tWO-y¢ar-olds. If th¢y ar¢ class¢d as ¢11￿1>1¢ by Wandsworth, these sessions are very p)pular, and most parents are using

this for five thre¢-hour scssions each weck tcrni time.
ACP has IKen offering thity hours for children aged 3 to 4 years old whose parents are eligible since Septem1￿ 2017.

SEN Inclusion Fund
It was introduced in 2018 for 3 to 4 years old and in 2019 for two Yea￿ ol(L The children who qualify will have access to
extra sup￿Irt in tffms of fe￿Ur¢eS or S￿la1 cla&ses such as Yoga or Physical Edu￿tIOnal cla&ses. This has been
remarkknty sUCce&sfi￿ so far. enabling us to support children appTDpriat¢ly with Special Educational Needs.

It was introduced in 2019 and benefits each academic year five chilth¢n with Sp￿la] Education￿ Needs 2, 3 and 4 years old
a￿d their parents with specific r¢sourw activitiffj and cla&ses. This was a success.

Independent examlnerfs re￿rt to the trustees of Alton Community Playschool
I report to the charitVs trustees on my examination of the accounts of Alton Community Playschool
(the Trust) for the year ended 31" March 2022.
Responsibilities and basis of report
The trustees ( who are also the directors of the company for the purposes of company law) are
responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the
Companies Act 2006 ( the 2006 Art)
I report in respect of my examination of the charitys accounts carried out under sertion 145 of the
Charities Act 2011 ( the 2011 Act)and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the
applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under settion 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act
Independent examinerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
(l) the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 386 of the 2006 Act" or
(2) the accounts did not accord with these records; or
(3) the accounts did not comply with the accounting requirements of section 396 of the 2006
Act other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a
matter considered as part of an independent examination or
(4) The accounts had not been prepared in accordance with the methods and principles of the
Statement of Recommended Practice . Accounting and Reporting by Charities.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.

IAccounting policies
The following accounting policies have been used consistently in dealing with items which are
considered material in relation to the financial statements
Statement of Compliance
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wlth Accounting and Reporting by
Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with Financial Report Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102).
They also comply with the Companies Act and Charities Act 2011.
Basis of Preparation
The playschool meets the definition of a public entity under FRSIO2.
Going Concern.
The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charitys ability to
continues as a going concern.
Income resources and resources expended
All income is recognised once the charity has entitlement to the income.
All expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to that expenditure.
Support Costs
Support costs include central functions and have been allocated to activity cost categories on a basis
cost with the use of resources.
Governance Costs
These include costs attributable to the charitvs compliance with constitutional and statutory
requirements including Independent Examinerfs fees and accountancy services.
Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less depreciation.
Equipment costing over £500 is capitalised and depreciation is charged at rates estimated to write
off the cost of the assets over their estimated lives on a reducing balance basis of 25% per annum
Computer equipment. Depreciation is charged at the rate of 25% of cost per annum
