President’s Report at the AGM on 21/8/21 for period from 1/4/20 to 31/3/21
Financial Matters
Accounts is a matter for the Treasurer and these have been audited. I have seen a copy and the Auditors are happy with the accounts.
Punjabi School & Dharmick Classes
Due to pandemic these classes were suspended but have since been resumed and all students and teachers are happy to be back. Religious School
Students for Religious classes are divided into two groups - Junior and senior and taught by three volunteers Dr Simarmeet Singh, Mrs Kuldeep Kaur Renauta and Mr Verinder Singh Bhogal. Again due to pandemic these classes were suspended and are now back on track.
Music & Tabla Classes
Harmonium and Tabla is taught by Bhai Sarbjit Singh ji and classes are held every Sunday between 130 and 230pm But we do not appear to have made any real progress in this respects, a lot more need to be done.
Educational visits by schools and others
This Sewa is done by Dr Simarmeet Singh ji with help from other volunteers from time to time. Pandemic and school closure had some effect on these visits but since the children are back in schools these visits have resumed.
Meditation & Yoga Classes for Ladies
These were resumed after demand from sangat last year and every attempt is being made to encourage ladies to attend and benefit from it but progress in this respect is very slow as many ladies do not appear to have time to attend.
Communication and Public Relations
All programmes are displayed as usual at the Gurdwra’s web-site and communications to and from members Members are done by emails and sms’s.
Covid 19
Pandemic made us to close our premises due to the virus but we kept streamlining our services on line and have since resumed our worship and other services.
