Res•r¥es Poilcy
In line with the recommendatiuns of th& Charity Commission, the Trustees have formalty adopted a
reserves policy. This recognises that the income of the Company does not arise evenly year on year and so
to enable the Cofnpany to plan its activities the Trustees have decided it would be prudent to hold reseNes
equal to six- nine months running costs.
Based on the 2023 accounts. annual 1￿CoMe totalled £286.40212022: £333,9591 and annual expenditure
totalled £401,68012022: £347,096). This resulted in a deficit for the year of £115,278 12021-. deficit of
£13.1371 with overall surplus reservesat 31 December 2023 of £172,80312022: É287.8811.
Donations were £47.000 less this year compared to last. Thls shortFall was due to a strategic decision to
postpone our major fundraising campaign, originally planned for November 2023. The events in Israel on 7th
October 2023 deeply impacted our community, arkd it was felt to be insensitive to launch a large-scale
fundraising campaign focused on the UK Jewish community during such a difficult time. Thereforg. we
io

made Ihe decision to postpone the campalqn until February 2024. This strateglc shift proved successful.
and the rescheduled campaign raised over £lOO.000.

is exposed to and th8 Steps taken to mitigate those rlsks. As part of this process the [￿Stee$ have
