## Trustees Report

FY April 24- March 25

After the excitement of recruiting 12 new members last year, this year has been one of consolidation and a new recruitment drive.

Our new Musical Director has provided new music and energy to the choir. Our new accompanist is a glorious find and works well with the MD. We are now in a much stronger position in providing music which is appreciated by our supporters. Comments by our supporters show that our musical standards have markedly improved. Another innovation by our MD, audience participation, has also proved popular. Several new members are delighting us with their singing by undertaking solo spots in our concerts.

The year’s recruitment campaign “Pizza and Pint” at the Hogs Back Brewery attracted 33 participants, of which 12 came along to rehearsals. 10 of these stayed to swell our membership still further to 55 members.

Our informal “sing-outs”, where a group of us, twenty or so, regale the local populace for a short period, has been successful in drawing in more new members. Thus from a low start of 30 or so singers in 2023, we now boast 58 singers, and improving this number monthly.

Next year, we will not have a recruitment event but will continue to have “sing-outs”.

Our charity fund raising concerts are well established with Summer 24 raising £800 for Camberley Care. The Winter concert raised £1200 for Parity for the Disabled. Other monies amounting to £1500 showed that our ethos of many years “ fellowship of men who love to sing and raise money for charity whilst doing it.” is attractive. Our concert schedule remains busy.

We sang at the Knellwood Care Home in November, our normal yearly visit. We support the local authority by providing singers for Men’s Mental Health.

Next year we plan to partake in the Cornish Male Voice Festival, which will be a challenge. Next year will also see a new chairman as Peter Viveash will step down after 14 years.
